Allman Takes Anderson 75

ANDERSON, Ind. (August 14, 2010)Anderson’s Rob Allman turned in a dominating performance leading all 75 laps to capture the Champion Racing Association Street Stock feature at Anderson Speedway on the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Night at the Races on Saturday.

 

With the fastest 10 cars inverted for the start, Allman started on the pole position alongside Rich Boyer and rocketed into the lead. Boyer was able to stay close to Allman until lap 10 when he was black flagged as the result of a leaking valve cover.

 

"This is my first CRA win and I have to thank Motion Motors and Outlaw Racing without them it would not have been possible."  Allman commented.  "I also want to thank my sponsors, my crew, and everybody that stuck in there and did it.  It is easy when you are driving a car that ran like this one did tonight."

Poore Sets Fast Time

 

Josh Poore set fast time for the CRA Street Stock, Anderson 75 at Anderson Speedway with a time of 14.140.  Bret Miles Jr. was second at 14.175 seconds, Calvin Parham third, Danny Smith fourth and Jeff Perry fifth.

CRA Street Stocks Head to Anderson Speedway Saturday

 

Salem, IN (August 10, 2010) – The CRA Street Stocks head to Anderson Speedway this Saturday for the third of four series events that the World’s Fastest High-Banked Quarter Mile Oval will host during the 2010 season. CRA Street Stocks United Auto Salvage 50 Contingency and Cash Awards Announced

 

Salem, IN (July 24, 2010) – Champion Racing Association Officials have announced the Contingency and Cash Awards from this past Saturday’s CRA Street Stocks United Auto Salvage 50 event at Mt. Lawn Speedway Speedway. In order to receive the awards, the car owner and driver must be licensed series members and properly display each sponsors stickers on both sides of their racecar. The $1220 in total awards listed below is in addition to the events purse payout.  Click Here.

 

Atkinson Wins Rain Shortened CRA Street Stock Race

 

As the CRA Street Stocks got to lap 26, just past the halfway point, when the rain claimed the Mt Lawn 50 giving Jason Atkinson the win , with Rich Boyer in second, Rick Erwin third, Calvin Parham fourth and Brain Hopkins fifth.

Parham Sets Fast Time at Mt Lawn

 

Calvin Parham set fast time for the CRA Street Stocks Mt. Lawn 50.  Larry Lathan was second, Brian Hopkins third, Jason Atkinson fourth and Steve Christman fifth.

Salem, IN (July 14, 2010) – The CRA Street Stocks will return to action this Saturday at Mt. Lawn Speedway located just outside New Castle, Indiana in the United Auto Salvage 50. Hoffman Wins Summer Championship 200

Plymouth, IN (July 11, 2010) - Eddie Hoffman was in the right place at the right time to take the lead of the CRA Super Series Summer Championships 200 at Plymouth Speedway. Dave Long in the CRA Street Stock race took off from the outside of the front row and never trailed. And Tom Hellinga dominated for two nights in a row to win both Vore’s Welding and Steel CRA FWD Compacts features this weekend.

When David Stremme tangled with race leader Scott Hantz spinning Hantz and sending both to the tail, Tyler Roahrig took the lead with Hoffman hot on is tail, seven laps later Hoffman passed Roahrig to take the lead on the 75th lap. At the halfway break Hoffman gambled, he did not take any tires giving him the point on the restart. 17 other cars also took no tires, putting the first car to change a tire, Terry Fisher, Jr in 18th on the restart.

"We were watching what the other guys did a the break and we decided not to take any tires at the half way break."  Hoffman said. "When saw most of other cars not taking any, and we decided not to so we could save our position."  Click Here.

Dave Long Wins First CRA Street Stock Race

Dave Long started his first CRA Street Stock race from the outside pole on his home track. He took the lead on the first lap and never gave it up leading all 50 laps to win his first CRA race. A group of drivers led by Rich Boyer, Brian Hopkins gave chase. While the cars behind him fought for position Long ran out to leads that stretched to as much as half a lap. Hopkins and Boyer fought for second for many laps, with Hopkins eventually getting past him. With the laps winding down quickly, Hopkins did not have time to get past Long after catching him. Boyer finished third, Rick Erwin finished fourth and Steve Christman fifth.

"We were going to get new tires for tonight, we did not get new tires, but we did get another set." Long commented.  "We got lucky on the draw for inversion.  But the car did not drop off all night.  We ran our qualifying lap every lap of the race."  Click Here.

Hellinga Make it Two in A Row

 

Tom Hellinga had never raced with the Vore's Welding and Steel CRA FWD Compacts before Saturday night's race at Plymouth Speedway.  Now he is a two time winner as he took both the Saturday night feature and the Sunday night feature.  Tom Taylor finished second, Tim Dilg third, Jess Drook fourth and Justin Brown fifth.

 

"This was blast! It was a clean race and this was a good group to run with."  Hellinga stated.   "The race was a nice fair race without any cautions.  Plymouth is my home track and I wanted to support the local track and have a chance to race with a new group of drivers."  Click Here.

VanDoorn Fast Time for Summer Championship 200

 

2009 CRA Super Series Champion and current points race leader Johnny VanDoorn stormed out of practice to  lead qualifying with a 13.041 second lap. Crowd favorite, NASCAR driver David Stremme racing in front of his hometown fans was second at 13.161, Aaron Pierce was third, Scott Hantz fourth and Tyler Roahrig fifth.

Moore Sets Pace in CRA Street Stock Qualifying

 

Nick Moore set fast time in the CRA Street Stock Qualifying with at time of 15.220 seconds, Rick Erwin was second at 15.244 seconds.   Brian Hopkins was third, Jeff Lane fourth and Steve Christman fifth.

Hellinga Fastest in Qualifying for FWD

 

Tom Hellinga won the feature on Saturday night at Plymouth Speedway and now has fast time for Sunday night with a lap of 16.499 seconds.  Jess Drook was second at 16.906 with Cary Abrell third, Justin Brown fourth and Tim Dilg fifth.

Johnny turned a lap at 13.217 seconds to set fastest time in practice with Steve Dorer was second fast at 13.223.  Scott Hantz third fast, Jason Shively fourth and Brian Campbell fifth.

Christman Jumps to Top of Practice

 

Steve Christman jumped to the fastest in practice with a lap at 15.257 seconds, Rookie contender Eddie Wolf made a big jump to second with a lpa of 15.313 seconds.  Brian Hopkins was third, Dave Long fourth and Ken Scheffler fifth.

Joey Miller Sets the Mark in CRA Super Series Practice

 

After traveling from Lakeville, Minnesota Joey Miller set the fastest time in the first practice for the CRA Super Series Summer Championship 200 at Plymouth Speedway with a lap of 13.436 seconds.  Last week's EMF 125 victor Tommy St John was second at 13.472, Steve Dorer third, Brian Campbell fourth and Scott Hantz fifth.

Jess Drook set fast time for the Vore's Welding and Steel CRA FWD Compacts with a lap of 17.176 seconds.  Cary Abrell was second at 17.360 seconds, Tim Dilg was third, Justin Brown fourth and Steve Vore fifth.

Brain Hopkins set a fast pace in the CRA Street Stock practice session with a time of 15.353 seconds.  Benton Harbor, MI driver Ken Scheffler was second at 15.426 seconds.  Jeff Lane third, Rick Erwin fourth and Steve Christman was fifth.

Bisacky To Lead Off Qualifying

 

31 CRA Super Series cars are at the track to vie for the Summer Championship 200 at Plymouth Speedway.  Caleb Bisacky will lead off qualifying after the order was set through the draw.  Rookie contender Nick Gullatta will go off second, Eddie Hoffman third, EMF 125 winner Tommy St. John fourth and Michael thayer fifth.

Hellinga Takes Feature

 

Currently leading the Vore's Welding and Steel CRA FWD Compacts point standings, Tim Dilg ran out to a solid lead at one point in the Plymouth 25 over Plymouth regulars Tom Hellinga and Tom Taylor.  Hellinga was able to reel Dilg in, catching him with seven to go and making the pass coming to the flag on the 20th lap to take the lead.  Dilg was not able to mount a challenge as Hellinga went on to win his first CRA event.

Drook and Brown Take Heat Race Victories

 

Jess Drook took the lead when the leader spun and the second place car was sent to the tail for causing the spin and cruised to victory.  Tom Hellinga was second and Tom Taylor third as they crossed the line side by side. 

In the second heat Stephanie Beane ran out to a long lead but was clocked at over .300 over her qualifying time for three consecutive laps putting Justin Brown in the lead and he cruised to victory with Austin Woodcox in second and Steve Vore in third.

Tom Taylor set a new track record with a time of 16.479 seconds in Vore's Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts Plymouth 25.  Kelton Kaechle was second at 16.500.  Tom Hellinga third, Jess Drook fourth and Cary Abrell fifth.

CRA at Plymouth Speedway this Weekend

 

Salem, IN (July 7, 2010) – Three divisions of Champion Racing Association will be in action at Plymouth Speedway this weekend starting with the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts which will have a doubleheader weekend with features on Saturday night and Sunday evening. The CRA Street Stocks will have a 50 lap feature on Sunday’s race card while the CRA Super Series will return to Plymouth for the Summer Championship 200 on Sunday. Click Here.

Poore Wins First CRA Street Stock Race

Josh Poore likes Anderson Speedway, he had his only other Top 5 in a CRA Street Stock event there and has now won his first race in the

 series taking the EDCO Welding and Hydraulics 300.  Scott Neal took the early lead before a flat tire forced him to the pits for a change which resulted in him being down four laps.  Brent Hudson then took over the lead and held it from lap 19 through the half way point with Josh Poore or Steve Christman on his tail each lap. 

 

After the half way break Poore caught and passed Hudson on the 186th lap and lead the rest of the way.  For a time it seemed Rich Boyer may have had enough to pass him, but he could not get by and settled into second.  Jeff Lane went down a lap early ehen he had to have the sway bar tightened during an early caution, but came back to finish third, Bret Miles, Jr. took over for Jeff Perry at the halfway break as the heat was causing drivers to wear out early finished fourth, Steve Christman finished fifth.

 

"He (Brent Hudson) was really good the first half the race." Poore stated.  "He was not as good the second half and I was able to catch him and get by."

Neal Sets New Track Record

Scott Neal set a new track record with a time of 13.801 seconds to lead qualifying for the CRA Street Stocks' EDCO Welding and Hydraulics 300.  Steve Christman was second at 13.982 seconds.  Beau Mitchell was third but failed post qualifying tech moving Brett Hudson up to third, Josh Poore fourth and Bret Mile, Jr. fifth.

Neal Fastest in Practice

Scott Neal turned a lap of 14.137 for the fastest lap in practice for the CRA Street Stocks' EDCO Welding and Hydraulics 300.  Bret Miles, Jr. is second at 14.138 seconds, Josh Poore is third, Jason Thompson is fourth and Nick Moore fifth.

Strong Field at Anderson Speedway

A strong field of 33 CRA Street Stocks are on hand for the EDCO Welding and Hydraulics 300 at Anderson Speedway.  Scott Neal the winner of the race last year after leading all 300 laps, Rich Boyer who leads all CRA Street drivers with three wins at Anderson Speedway, Jeff Lane who won the most recent CRA Street Stock event at Mt. Lawn Speedway are here.  Along with Bret Miles, Jr., Jason Thompson, Brian Hopkins and Eddie Van Meter, CRA Super Series event winner, making his first ever start in the CRA Street Stocks.

Salem, IN (June 18, 2010) – The CRA Street Stocks will return to action this Saturday in the EDCO Welding & Hydraulics Service 300 at Anderson Speedway. Last season’s 300 lap event was one of the best races in series history as Scott Neal fought off the challenges of Joe Beaver the first 175 laps, then fought off Beau Mitchell the last 125 to claim the victory. Evans Wins on Pass at the Line

Eric Evans led most of the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Feature when Jason Atkinson slipped by on the 43rd lap.  As they came to the checkered flag Atkinson got caught in lapped traffic and Evans was able to beat him to the line winning by just a few feet.

 

"It hate that it happened that way, but I love that I won." Evans stated.  "When I saw him catching the lap traffic, I stuck it down low and Jason gave me room.  I appreciate it, and I will do it for him in the future."

Lewis Takes the Compact Feature

Mark Mason took the checkered flag, but Brian Lewis was declared the winner wehn Mason wsa Disqualified for refusing to go through tech following the race. Tim dilg was third, Jess Drook fourth Ryan Amonett fourth and Ryan Morefield fifth.

Lane Takes CRA Street Stock Feature

Jeff Lane was second fast qualifier and fought through the traffic to take the lead on the 30 lap and win the CRA Street Stock feature at the Razzles Super Sunday 50 lap feature.  Rick Erwin took the early lead from the pole and lead to the 29 lap when he spun in the long turn. Lane fought off a challenge from Jason Thompson when there was a caution with 4 laps to go.

Abrell, Neal and Claborn Set Fast Times

Cary Abrell set fast time for the Vore's Welding and Steel CRA FWD Compacts with a time of 19.370 seconds. Scott Neal set the time for the CRA Street Stocks with a time of 17.497 seconds and Kevin Claborn set a new track record with a time of 16.538 seconds.
