Braden Runs Out Ahead

Winchester, IN (October 15, 2011) – In his third JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour presented by GM Performance Parts start Travis Braden started fourth, ran to the lead on the 10th lap and won the W&M Manufacturing/Pier-Mac Plastics 100 presented by JEGS.com in a dominating fashion Saturday night at Winchester Speedway.

Erik Jones earned his seventh Keyser Manufacturing Fast Qualifier Award. He then drew an invert of five putting Wes Griffith, Jr. on the pole with Jason Dietsch on the outside of the front row.

Dietsch took the lead on the first lap, while Braden moved up to second. On the 9th lap a spin brought out the second of five caution flags for the race. Braden took the lead on the restart and set sail. The rest of the race the only time anyone would be near him was on the ensuing restarts.

As the laps ran down, Braden set a torrid pace, lapping all but the top five racers on the track. Trent Snyder started to catch Braden in the last few laps as Braden was caught up while carefully lapping cars. Chad Finley finished third, Erik Jones fourth and Cody Coughlin fifth.

"What a place to win your first CRA race!" Braden enthusiastically stated in Victory Lane. "My crew is great, 6 months ago I didn’t even know these guys, but they are great."

Entering the race Erik Jones and Eddie Hoffman were the only drivers left that could win the Inaugural JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by GM Performance Parts Championship. With his fast time and finishing fourth, the 15 year old Jones earned the Championship.

"This is my first Championship!" Jones stated. "To win against this competition, in the inaugural season, it is unbelievable."

For moving up 17 postions during the race Jimmy Novak earned the Five Star Stock Car Bodies Hardcharger and the Racing Electronics Awards. Finley took home one of the Hoosier Racing Tire Performance Awards, with Kenny Kirsch, Jr. taking home the second.

The Howe Racing Rookie of the Race and VDL Fuel Systems Rookie Awards went to Cody Coughlin. Coughlin also earned the Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing Award for 2011.

This was the last race of 2011 for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by GM Performance Parts. The next event will be the Champion Racing Association Banquet honoring the Champions from all divisions. For more information about any CRA division see: www.craracing.net
