Anderson, IN (August 13, 2005) - Rick Turner, the Y-town Hustler, won his first CRA Super Series Race at his home track Anderson Speedway.  Leading the last 95 laps of the 125 lap race, Turner hung on despite a late charge from second place finisher Jeff Lane. Turner piloted his Great Deals Ford to his first win in his 120th CRA Super Series presented by Spray Power Event.

"We have worked hard, been in this series from day one.  We just kept coming back, never gave up and finally won one.  Everyone said when I did win it would probably be on a strange track, but it happened here!"  Stated an elated Turner in Victory Lane.

Turner started fifth, got under Lane on the start and was running second to pole sitter Bull Baker on lap 29 when Baker’s ignition gave out and Turner took the lead. Lane started fourth moved to third behind Turner on lap 30 and made a bold move to pass Chris Gabehart for second place on lap 53, but he was unable to get himself in position to pass Turner through the rest of the race. Lane’s pass of Gabehart earned him the Sweet Manufacturing Sweet Move of the Race Award. Bobby Parsley finished third, J.R. Roahrig fourth and Eddie Hoffman after starting 15th finished fifth. Hoffman’s move through the field earned him the ISKY Racing Cams/Lane Automotive Hard Charger Award, Hoosier Racing Tire Performance Award and the Racing Electronics Most Improved Award.

"We are really happy for the Turner team, we would obviously have liked to win but there were just too many yellows, every time the car came around there was a yellow and it killed the momentum. It has taken this car a few laps to get going all year. Then we were lapping cars so often there was just not enough time to pass. But we will take second and go home happy. " Lane commented.

Parsley was the Bicycle Poker Chips/Menards Fast Qualifier Award winner then he drew a seven for the invert. From seventh Parsley worked his way to third on lap 63 and chased Lane and Turner for the rest of the evening. He was close to Lane and seemed to be pressing him until a yellow on lap 94, after the yellow Parsley could not regain his momentum and settled for third.

Patrick Lawson was the Cometic Gasket Top Rookie Award winner with his fourteenth place finish. Jeff Stith was the Leaf Race Products Tough Luck Award winner when he was forced to drop out after only 11 laps due to an engine problem.

Kenny Tweedy started 13th and finished eighth earning him a Hoosier Racing Tire Performance Award. The Marvel Mystery Oil Mechanic of the Race was John Turner the crew chief for Rick Turner. The Howe Racing Performance Award went to Nick Adams for advancing 10 positions. Turner was also the Kingen Interstate Express Halfway Leader.

The Great Lakes International Trucks 125 at Berlin Motor Speedway is the next CRA Super Series event on August 20. More information is available at www.craracing.net.
