CRA SUPER SERIES STARS TO WATCH FOR AT NSTC

Thursday, September 14, 2006 (Loves Park, IL) – The CRA Super Series will be making their fourth straight appearance to the 41st Annual Chicago International Trucks National Short Track Championships at the Rockford Speedway. Four Indiana drivers hope to break the streak of victories by Illinois drivers.

 

Scott Hantz of Pleasant Lake, IN currently sits on top of the CRA Owner Point Standings with a 31 point lead over Tommy St. John. Hantz missed the 2005 NSTC event but has posted an 11th place finish in 2003 and a 13th place finish in 2004. So far this season he has one win, one fast qualifier award, 9 top-five and 10 top-ten finishes and has completed 83.3% of the event laps.

 

Tommy St. John of Indianapolis, IN, recently picked up his first CRA Super Series win at the famed Winchester Speedway. The 2005 CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year made his first visit to NSTC in 2005 and posted a 9th 

place finish. He has one win, 5 top-five finishes, and 8 top-ten finishes. He has completed an incredible 99.7% of the laps ran this year.

 

JR Roahrig from South Bend, IN currently sits third in points. Roahrig is familiar with the famed Speedway as he has competed in the past with the NASCAR Autozone Elite Division – Midwest Series. He finished sixth in last year’s event. So far this season he has one win, one fast qualifier award, 5 top-five finishes and 10 top-ten finishes. He has finished 90.7% of the laps completed this season.

 

Eddie Van Meter of Indianapolis, IN currently sits fifth in points. He has competed in the past three NSTC events. In 2003, he finished 18th. He moved up to a 16th place finish in 2004, and capped off the 2005 season

with a 10th place finish. So far this year, he has one win, 6 top-five and 6 top-ten finishes.

 

Past NSTC Champions under the CRA Super Series banner are Ron Breese Jr. of Dekalb, IL (2003) and Eddie Hoffman of Wheaton, IL (2004-05).

 

So far this season, 126 drivers have scored points in the CRA Super Series with 14 different winners in 15 events.
