(Winchester, IN) – Officials from the Champion Racing Association (CRA) and Winchester Speedway recently introduced their Lap Sponsor Program for the 35th Annual Winchester 400 on October 13-15. Sponsors are being sought for each of the 400 laps at a cost of $25 per lap. 100% of the funds are committed to the drivers that lead the respective laps.

Each sponsor will be recognized by being posted on Lap Sponsor Signage at the race track, recognized in the Event Program, and recognized in pre-race ceremonies. Everyone who sponsors a lap will be entered in a drawing for two 2007 season tickets in addition to other drawing prizes. Every person who sponsors at least 4 laps will be entered in another drawing for a $3000 Presenting Sponsorship Package for a 2007 event at Winchester Speedway. The package includes 25 tickets, on-site display rights, sponsor exposure in all media placements and dignitary recognition during trophy presentation and/or driver introductions.

The $10,000 expected to be raised in lap sponsor money could make it possible for one driver to win over $25,000 with a victory in one of the most prestigious events in short track racing. Through the years The Winchester 400 has been one of the most popular series of stock car events ever held at Winchester Speedway. ASA, NASCAR and the CRA Super Series have sanctioned the event in the past and the CRA Super Series is once again leading the legendary event back to the forefront. CRA has been one of the key players in reviving another great short track event in recent years…the All American 400 in Nashville TN.

The Winchester 400 has seen some of the best stock car drivers in history in it’s victory lane including Bob Senneker, a record 8 time event winner, 3 time winner Mike Cope, a two time winners Dave Sorg, Mike Eddy, Mark Martin, Butch Miller, and Gary St. Amant, with other drivers such as Rusty Wallace, Ted Musgrave, Tim Steele, Denny Miles and Brian Ross with single event victories. The CRA Super Series first sanctioned the event in 1999 when NASCAR left the event. Two-time CRA Super Series Champion Brian Ross beat his brother Scott to get the victory in that event. The series came back again to sanction the event in 2003 when ASA left the event. Bobby Parsley put his name in the history books getting the victory in that event and clinching the 2003 CRA Super Series Championship.

The Winchester 400 Weekend will start off on Friday, October 13th with open practice for all cars and Round 1 qualifying for the Winchester 400. Saturday, October 14th will feature Winchester 400 practice and Round 2 Qualifying plus practice, qualifying and features for the CRA Outlaw Late Models and CRA Street Stocks and the Winchester Shoot Out between the American Modified Series and the USA Modifieds. Sunday will start with a huge autograph session then 400 laps of exciting high banks stock car action with the CRA Super Series in the 35th Annual Winchester 400.
