Ed Martin Auto Group To Sponsor 35th
Annual Winchester 400 Weekend
Winchester, IN (September 19, 2006) –
Champion Racing Association and Charlie Shaw, owner of Winchester
Speedway, are pleased to announce that Ed Martin Auto Group has agreed
to be
the
title sponsor of the 35th Annual Winchester 400 Weekend and
the CRA Super Series sanctioned Winchester 400, the 2006 Season
Championship event for the CRA Super Series Presented By Spray Power.
The prestigious Winchester 400 was revived for the 2006 season, it was
last featured on the High Banks in October of 2003.

bringing back this great event to Winchester Speedway," stated Ed
Martin Auto Group President Mark Harrison. "This event was one of the
biggest stock car events in the country for many years, we want to see
it return to that prominence again. This track has a lot of history
and a lot of famous racers have raced many laps around its famous High

The 35th Annual Ed Martin
Auto Group Winchester 400 Weekend will kick off on Friday, October 13th
with open practice for all divisions competing during the weekend from
2 to 6:30pm. Round one of qualifying, locking in positions 1 through
24 for the 35th Annual Ed Martin Auto Group Winchester 400
will kick off the evening’s events at 7pm along with the 20 lap
Modified All Star Challenge and the 40-lap CRA Sportsman Season
Championship event.
Saturday, October 14th
will start with practice again for all divisions competing on Saturday
and for the cars already locked in through first round qualifying for
the 35th Annual Ed Martin Auto Group Winchester 400 from
11am until 3:15pm. Qualifying for the support events will begin at
3:15pm with Second Round qualifying for the 35th Annual Ed
Martin Auto Group Winchester 400 that will lock in positions 25
through 30 at 5pm. The nights racing action will follow qualifying and
will include a 75-lap event for the CRA Outlaw Super Late Models, the
"Run for the Gun" 50-lap Modified event featuring the best of the USA
Modifieds versus the best of the American Modifieds and the 50 lap
Season Championship event for the CRA Street Stocks. After the racing
is over Saturday night there will be a party in the pavilion with live
music starting at around 8:30pm until who knows when!
Sunday, October 15th will
be the final day of the 35th Annual Ed Martin Auto Group
Winchester 400 Weekend and will start with warm-up sessions for the
CRA Super Series late models at 10:45am. The entire starting line-up
will then be staged on the front stretch and all the fans will be
invited to come on to the track for an autograph session featuring all
the drivers racing on Sunday starting at 11:30am. Pre-race ceremonies
will start at 12:30pm. The 35th Annual Ed Martin Auto Group
Winchester 400 is scheduled to go green at 1pm.
Camping will be available at
Winchester Speedway starting on Thursday, October 12th on a
first come first serve basis with a $20 camping fee for the whole
weekend.
