Special from Chuck Barnes Jr. Racing
Chuck Barnes Jr.
To Race September 16th ARCA RE/MAX Series Event At Salem
Speedway
Louisville, KY (September 11,
2006) – TC Motorsports owners Tammy and C.E. Clower have announced
that Louisville, Kentucky native Chuck Barnes Jr. will compete in
their ARCA RE/MAX Series racecar
again
in the Eddie Gilstrap Motors ARCA Fall Classic 200 at Salem Speedway
on Saturday, September 16th. The Clower’s made the decision
to put Barnes Jr. in their car for a second race after Barnes Jr.
scored a stunning victory in his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut Friday
September 1st at Toledo Speedway, beating 7 time ARCA
RE/MAX Series Champion Frank Kimmel, even after a late caution put
Kimmel on Barnes’s bumper with fresher tires for a green, white
checker restart. Barnes Jr. got a great restart and pulled away from
Kimmel to get the victory.
"It was a dream come true," remarked
Barnes Jr. "I had always hoped to get a chance to race in the ARCA
RE/MAX Series, I new I could compete at that level, but to win the
first time out was truly amazing. I have to thank Tammy and C.E.
Clower for giving me this great opportunity, I’m really looking
forward to racing with the ARCA RE/MAX Series at my home track. It’s
also Frank’s home track, he’s won a bunch of races there, hopefully it
can come down to the two of us again in front of a packed house of
local race fans!"
The 2004 CRA Super Series Champion
has raced at Salem Speedway in Street Stocks, Super Stocks and is
currently leading the Salem Speedway KY Clutch & Performance Late
Models points were he has gotten 2 wins, 3 second place finishes and
has been fast qualifier 5 of the 7 events so far this season. Barnes
Jr. has a 13-point lead over two time and defending KY Clutch &
Performance Late Model Champion Keith Gardner with one event left in
their 2006 season.
"We have the point lead with one race
to go in the late models at Salem Speedway. We just have to keep
qualifying good and run up front. Anything can happen at Salem
Speedway, you always have to keep on your toes during a 50 lap race or
a 200 lap race. It got pretty crazy at times at Toledo Friday night,
but I just tried to keep out of trouble and was patient, you have to
be the same way at Salem Speedway if you want to win."
Barnes Jr. will have sponsor support
for this Saturday’s ARCA RE/MAX Series race from Crown Spray Power
Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Eikler Flames, Mid-Southern Savings Bank, and
Speed Media. Chuck Barnes Jr. racing is still in need of additional
sponsor support for the Eddie Gilstrap Motors ARCA Fall Classic event
this Saturday, interested parties should contact Chuck Barnes Jr. at
