Nashville, TN (September 15, 2005) –
Officials from the Champion Racing Association (CRA) Super Series and
O’Reilly Southern All Stars (SAS) have released the rules and entry
forms for the All-American 400 Weekend in Nashville, TN. The historic
5/8 mile Music City Motorplex in Nashville will again be host of this
annual fall classic that pits the top drivers from the North against
the best from the South. The North claimed the victory last year when
2004 CRA Champion and Roush "Gong Show" finalist Chuck Barnes Jr.
strummed his guitar in victory lane after a tough battle in the
closing laps with the South’s Jason Hogan and the North’s Eddie
Hoffman.
The All-American 400 Weekend will take place
November 4-5-6 and will feature 400 laps of action on Sunday November
6th, with the "Blue-Grey 100" for non-qualifiers and the
headlining $10,000-to-win "All-American 300."
Open practice will be held on Friday with pits
opening at 10:00 am, with practice from 1:30 to 5:30. On Saturday pit
gates will open at 8:00 am, with practice from 11:00 to 12:30.
Qualifying will begin at 2:00, with last chance races scheduled at
3:30. The track will close at 5:30, giving everyone a chance to enjoy
the nightlife in one of the nation’s most exciting cities. On Sunday,
the pit gates will open at 8 am, with technical inspection from 8:30
to 10:30. All race cars will be gridded by 11:00 for an on-track
autograph session, with the Blue-Grey 100 scheduled for a Noon start
time. The All American 300 will follow at approximately 2:00 pm, where
the winner will claim bragging rights for a year, the traditional
Champion’s guitar trophy that represents a prestigious win in the
Music City, and a minimum $10,000 winner’s check.
The total purse for the 2005 All-American
Weekend has been increased from last year. In addition to the $10,000
to win / $1000 to start All American 300, the Blue-Grey 100 will pay
the winner of the non-qualifiers race $1000. Also, bonuses have been
posted for the top CRA drivers and the top SAS/ASA Late Model drivers.
The top five finishers from each of the two groups will receive
bonuses of $1000, $600, $400, $300, $200 respectively. To be eligible
for the bonus, a driver must have completed in at least two events in
the 2005 season prior to All-American Weekend.
While the event is co-sanctioned by CRA and
SAS, it is open to all competitors and at least 30 of the starting
spots are based solely on qualifying and last chance races…not
affiliation. Early response from competitors has indicated drivers
will be coming from all across the country. Besides the top stars from
CRA and SAS, entries are expected from drivers representing the
following series: Music City Motorplex All American Challenge Series,
ASA Late Models, NASCAR Southeast and Midwest Tours, FASCAR, USRA,
MARS, Wisconsin Challenge Series, Big 10 and PASS. Officials have also
announced that the popular Hoosier 3035 and 3045 tires will be used
for the event and that the tires must be purchased at the track the
weekend of the event.
