15, 2005) – For the final occasion this racing season, Super Late
Models will be showcased at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, September
17. Many of the stars of the CRA Super Series Late Models have
informed speedway officials they will compete at the world’s fastest
quarter-mile oval this weekend.
Some of the drivers that fans can expect to see include former
Anderson Street Stock champion Bull Baker, inaugural CRA Super Series
champion Kenny Tweedy and 2003 Anderson 400 winner Bobby Parsley. A
host of other competitors are expected to be involved in the 40-lap
feature.
The Super Late Models will join the Indy URL Stock Cars, Limited
Late Models and the Boss Hogg Catering & Jerky Figure 8’s on the
Saturday, September 17 racing lineup. Spectator Gates open at 5 p.m.
with racing scheduled to begin at 8.
Late Model racing has been a fixture at Anderson Speedway for many
years with names such as Bob Fields, Vic Hellis, Jim Cooper, Dennis
Miles, Ray Fullen, Rick Rhonemus and Brian Rievley enjoying success at
the world’s fastest high-banked quarter-mile oval.
Anderson Speedway’s Super Late Model car specifications are
identical to the 2005 CRA Super Series rules. The 40-lap feature will
pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.
