Sunoco Super Series Event Moved To Baer Field Speedway
Salem, IN (September 14,
2004) –
Sunoco Super Series Officials announced today that the series
event that had been scheduled at Angola Motor Speedway on Sunday, October
17th has been moved to Baer Field Speedway in Ft. Wayne,
Indiana. That event had been originally rescheduled from September 4th
to October 17th because of construction delays on the
remodeling of Angola Motor Speedway. Further delays have resulted in the
event being moved to Baer Field Speedway.
"The rainy weather this
summer just put us to far behind to get Angola Motor Speedway properly
open for an event this season," remarked Dick Poe, owner of Angola Motor
Speedway. "We will now have until spring of 2005 to get everything done
and be ready for a full season of racing with some great improvements for
our fans and racers!"
Angola Motor Speedway will
be the Presenting Sponsor of the 100 lap Sunoco Super Series event at Baer
Field Speedway on Sunday, October 17th.
"We wanted to show everyone
with the series how sorry we are for not getting the track opened," said
Poe. "We have always been big supporters of the Sunoco Super Series and we
support the move of the event to Baer Field Speedway. We look forward to
having the series back next year at the new and improved Angola Motor
Speedway!"
Improvements at Angola Motor
Speedway include new grandstand seating, a new operations tower with
suites, new front-stretch lighting, a new concession area and new
bathrooms. Also planned this winter is track grinding, patching, new pit
concessions, new pit restrooms and a Go-Kart track in the pit area.
"We commend Dick Poe for
doing what he could to try and have a series event this season," remarked
Glenn Luckett, Sunoco Super Series Director. "We all know to well that
nobody can control the weather, it is a constant factor in our business.
We look forward to racing next season at Angola Motor Speedway and having
our fans and racers enjoy the new improvements. We would also like to
thank Tom Ish at Baer Field Speedway for working with us on getting the
event moved to his racetrack!"

practice on Saturday, October 16th. A complete weekend schedule
of events will be released shortly. The racing that Sunday at Baer Field
