2007 Winchester
400 Date Announced
Winchester, IN (October 18, 2006)
– Winchester Speedway owner Charlie Shaw with Champion Racing
Association, the promoters of Winchester Speedway, have announced the
date for
the
2007 36th Annual Winchester 400, which will be ran on
Sunday, October 14th, 2007 with preliminary events on
Friday, October 12th and Saturday, October 13th.
"Based on the success we had with the
return of the Winchester 400 this past weekend, we are announcing the
date for the 36th Annual Winchester 400 so all the fans and
race teams can start planning to return next season," remarked Shaw. "
The crowds were not huge but the weather may have hurt that a little.
Also this is the first year we did the return of the 400 with the
three-day event. The campers and so forth showed me that we are on the
right track. I think we are on to something. If we stay with it a few
years I believe we can make this race like it was in the old days. We
want it to be a race people look forward to all year long."
The CRA Super Series will sanction
the 36th Annual Winchester 400 again in 2007. It will be the fourth
time that the series has sanctioned this prestigious event. Scott
Hantz got to add his name to the list of Winchester 400 Champions by
winning Sunday’s 35th Annual Ed Martin Auto Group
Winchester 400.
"We would like to congratulate Scott
Hantz and owner Dick Poe on their victory and their 2006 CRA Super
Series Championship," remarked R.J. Scott of Champion Racing
Association. "What a way to cap off the 2006 season by winning a
championship and one of short track racings most historic events in
the same day. We look forward to working with Charlie Shaw to continue
to build this event back to the prominence it once held. We would like
to thank all the fans, sponsors and racers that helped make this past
weekend a success, we hope they will all come back and support this
event next year!"
Winchester Speedway owner Charlie
Shaw and track promoters R.J Scott, Glenn Luckett and Greg Wood with
Champion Racing Association would like to thank all the fans,
sponsors, competitors, and track volunteers and workers for a great
2006 season. Keep checking the track web site at

The next CRA Super Series event will
be the All American 400 at the Music City Motorplex at the Fairgrounds
