Scott Hantz Wins
The 2006 Scott Performance Wire Six State Challenge
Salem, IN (October 3, 2006) –
With his second place finish in the Chicago International Trucks 200
at Rockford Speedway on September 23rd, CRA Super Series
veteran racer Scott Hantz has won the 2006 Scott Performance Wire Six
State Challenge, an award program based upon six selected
CRA
Super Series points events in the six states the series had points
events in 2006. Hantz finished with a total of 487 points in the five
events that were held with the challenge, the six event was suppose to
be at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri, but that event was canceled
because of weather.
The Scott Performance Wire Six State
Challenge began with the All American 150 CRA Super Series season
opening event at the Music City Motorplex at the Fairgrounds in
Nashville, Tennessee on March 18th. The second event was
the Berlin 125 At Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. The third event
was Saturday, July 29th at New Paris Speedway in New Paris,
Indiana. The fourth event was on August 11th at Toledo
Speedway in Toledo, Ohio were Scott Hantz got his first victory of the
2006 season. The fifth event was the Chicago International Trucks 200
at the 41st Annual National Short Track Championships At
Rockford Speedway.
Hantz
will receive a $600 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires at the
2006 season awards banquet for winning the Scott Performance Wire Six
State Challenge. Hantz’s margin of victory was 61 points over second
place Eddie Van Meter, it was the largest margin of victory in the
Scott Performance Wire Challenge since it started in 2002. Hantz was
the winner of the 2004 edition of the Scott Performance Wire Challenge
with a 44-point victory over Junior Hanley.
Van Meter used his fourth place
finish in the Chicago International Trucks 200 to move into second
place with 426 points, going into the Rockford event Van Meter was in
fifth place, he passed Tommy St. John, JR Roahrig with his finish over
them at Rockford and Jack Landis, who did not race in the that event.
Van meter will receive a $400 bonus at the 2006 season awards banquet.
Tommy St. John finished in third
place in the Scott Performance Wire Six State Challenge with 424
points and will receive a $200 bonus at the 2006 season awards
banquet. JR Roahrig finished in fourth place with 417 points and Danny
Jackson finished in fifth with 370 points.
