McGunegill Engine Performance Invites Top CRA Teams to Review Sealed Engine during Live Tear Down

Muncie, IN (October 3, 2005) - McGunegill Engine Performance (MEP) announced today they have invited car owners and 1 other representative from each of the top 15 teams in Champion Racing Association (CRA) points to be present during the tear down of one of their winning 2005 sealed engines. The tear down and information session will start at 1pm on Thursday, October 6 at 1 pm. Teams will also be able to review the parts list for both the Chevy and Ford Sealed Engines at that time, and compare the list to the engine they will be breaking the seal on and tearing down for a rebuild. This tear down and information session are additional measures that MEP and CRA are taking to ensure the continued integrity of the Sealed Engine program.

MEP, with the co-operation and guidance from CRA, has worked to produce a competitive Sealed Engine at a fraction of the cost of a top flight 9 to 1. To date in the 2005 CRA season, drivers Rick Turner, Jeff Lane, and Billy Crane have made all the shows, and each have commented that the low cost and reliability of the MEP Sealed Engine are the only reasons they have been able to do that. In 2005 CRA competition the MEP Sealed Engine has compiled three wins in a season where the series has seen an incredible 14 different winners in 17 races with all different types of engine packages being represented in victory lane.

The MEP Sealed Engine package is guaranteed for a year and sells for $13,500 or leases for $7,995 per year. Both the cost and the guarantee are industry changing items that MEP has been at the forefront of. The MEP Sealed Engine is similar in performance to today’s top 23/18 degree 9 to 1’s or Southern Steel Head 750 engines. The engine can also be de-tuned for other series as well with a carburetor change.

Currently, the MEP Sealed Engine has been approved for competition in the CRA Super Series, Southern All-Stars, FASCAR Sunbelt Series as well as approval for events like the All-American 400 in Nashville, January’s "SpeedFest" at USA International Speedway in Lakeland Florida, and the World Series during "Speedweeks" at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida. In addition, 15 year old Landon Cassill qualified for the prestigious Snowball Derby last year using a MEP sealed engine.

MEP offers state of the art facilities in-house with a DTS4000G Dyno as well as over 100 years combined experience. Their engines are used successfully throughout the United States, with over 50 track championships in the past five years. MEP is also the only approved new builder of the ASA Late Model Ford sealed engine. They offer many options for the individual racer as well as a variety of options to the meet the needs for tracks and series. MEP can meet the demands of a series or track wanting to utilize a "Spec" or "Sealed" engine, or the needs of a specific racer looking for a custom engine
