Meter Still Lead Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators Season Lap Leader
Awards
Salem, IN (October 10, 2005) –
Chris Gabehart and Eddie Van Meter currently lead the Harris
Cutting
Torches & Regulators Season Lap Leader Awards after 17 of 20 events on
the 2005 CRA Super Series Presented By Spray Power schedule. Harris
Cutting Torches & Regulators, a division of Harris Calorific, will
award the CRA Super Series driver that leads the most laps in the
regular 100/125/150 lap series events on the 2005 schedule with a set
of Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators. Gabehart currently leads in
that category with 215 laps lead to date. Gabehart led 116 laps in the
season opener at Anderson Speedway and 99 of the 100 laps in the May
22 Winchester Speedway event he won.
Gabehart, the 2004 CRA Super Series
Rookie Of The Year, has a 26 lap lead over second place Eddie Van
Meter who has lead 189 laps in the shorter distance series races. Van
Meter has lead laps in four series events this season beginning at
Toledo Speedway were he led 2 laps before rain halted the event, he
led 88 laps in the June Berlin Raceway event, 24 laps in the August
Berlin Raceway event, and 75 laps of the Labor Day event at Winchester
Speedway, but is still seeking his first series victory. Bobby Parsley
is currently in third with 181 laps lead. Parsley lead 9 laps in
getting the victory in the series season opener at Anderson Speedway,
1 lap at the June Columbus Motor Speedway event, 71 laps of the July
Angola Motor Speedway event and all 100 laps in getting the victory in
September at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway.
All three drivers in the top three of
the Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators Season Lap Leader Awards in
the regular 100/125/150 lap series events are entered for that
categories last event on Sunday, October 23rd at Salem
Speedway. No other driver in that category has a chance to catch
Gabehart except Van Meter and Parsley.
In addition, Harris Cutting Torches &
Regulators will award the driver who leads the most laps in the
special multi lap events on the 2005 CRA Super Series schedule with a
set of Harris Cutting Torches & Regulators. The Anderson 400 at
Anderson Speedway on July 16th is the only event held in
that category to date. Eddie Van Meter leads this category with 172
laps lead, all of which were at the Anderson 400. Eddie Hoffman,
winner of the Anderson 400, is in second in that category with 148
laps lead. The series rescheduled event at Rockford Speedway on
October 29th and the All American 300 at Music City
Motorplex on November 6th will be the other special multi
lap series events in 2005.
The Harris Cutting Torches &
Regulators Season Lap Leader Awards will be presented at the 2005 CRA
Super Series Awards Banquet. A driver can only win the award in one
category.
