Jeff Lane Wins Drivers
Championship, TK Racing Wins Owners Championship
Salem, IN (November 2, 2005) –
For the first time ever in the history of the CRA Super Series
Presented By Spray Power the season points championships will have
separate winners. Knightstown,
 Indiana
native Jeff Lane captured his first ever CRA Super Series Drivers
Points Championship by 47 points over second place finisher Eddie Van
Meter and by 54 points over third place Eddie Hoffman. Hoffman’s #8
team TK Racing owned by Orland Park, Illinois native Tom Kmak captured
there first CRA Super Series Owners Points Championship by 21 points
over Hayden Butler’s #11 team with driver Jeff Lane, and by 68 over
the Muller Motorsports #23 team with driver Eddie Van Meter. Steve
Moenck drove the #8 TK Racing car at the June Columbus Speedway event,
subbing for Hoffman who was competing for TK Racing in a NASCAR Elite
Midwest Series event in Colorado. A close finish in the final points
closes out the tightest season long points battle the CRA Super Series
has ever had since it’s beginning in 1997, even with Lane building a
slight lead over the last two events.
2003 CRA Super Series Champion Bobby
Parsley finished 4th in series points followed by 2004 CRA
Super Series Rookie Of The Year Chris Gabehart in 5th.
Veteran series driver JR Roahrig finished in 6th with 2000
CRA Super Series Champion Scott Hantz in 7th. Kenny Tweedy,
driving his first full season for veteran series owner Floyd Fehl,
finished in 8th. Tommy St. John in his first full season
with the series finished in 9th and captured the 2005
Cometic Gaskets/Finishline Fabricating Rookie Of The Year Award. The
Y-Town Hustler Rick Turner recovered from early season problems to
finish in tenth place.
Teenage Independence, Missouri native
Billy Crane finished in 11th in his first full season with
the CRA Super Series. Crane was second in the Cometic Gaskets/Finishline
Fabricating Rookie Of The Year points behind St. John. Veteran Ohio
driver Jack Landis finished in 12th with his MHE Jim Newman
owned team. Boris Jurkovic used great early season finishes to grab
the 13th position in points, the second Illinois driver in
the top fifteen. Another teenage driving sensation Landon Cassill
finished in 14th in his first season competing with the CRA
Super Series. Cassill is the first driver from Iowa to finish in the
top fifteen in series points. Rookie contender Jason Shively rounds
out the top fifteen in points in his first season competing with the
CRA Super Series.
The 2005 CRA Super Series Presented
By Spray Power Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday evening,
January 7, 2006, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located in the historic
Union Station in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana were the 2005 CRA
Super Series Owner and Driver Champions will be honored along with all
the top fifteen teams in 2005 CRA Super Series Owners Points.
