Kawkawlin,
MI driver Mike Eddy has filed an entry for the Sunoco Super Series portion
of the Twin 100’s, set for this Sunday, August 1 at Toledo Speedway. The
Main Event Late Model Series will also compete on the same race card in
their own 100 lap feature race. The unique race card, showcasing both
stock-bodied and outlaw-bodied Late Models in separate 100 lap contests,
was washed out by rain May 30 and reset for this Sunday.
Eddy
was one of the men to beat in the 1970’s 1980’s and 1990’s in the
Tri-State area. Known for his hard-charging style, Eddy was one of the
legendary car builder Ed Howe’s protégé’s as he scored victory after
victory throughout the Midwest. Mike will wheel the no. 7 Chevy Monte
Carlo owned by JVEE-M Racing of Gahanna, Ohio in the Sunoco Super Series
portion of the Twin 100’s Sunday night at Toledo.
The
Indiana-based Sunoco Super Series cars are outfitted with template, or
stock-bodies. Canadian superstar Jr. Hanley and 2003 champion Bobby
Parsley, along with Johnny Belott, Brian Campbell, Freddie Campbell, Scott
Hantz, Scott Baker, Dave Kuhlman and the Sunoco regulars will battle for
top honors in the 100 lap event on Toledo’s ½ mile, high-banked paved
oval. A field of 30 Sunoco Super Series cars is expected Sunday.
2003
Main Event Series champ Rich Rohrer is set to defend his title and is also
the defending Toledo race winner for the Main Event Series portion of the
Twin 100’s. The outlaw-bodied style cars should also have a field of
close to 30 machines at the Glass City oval this Sunday. Rohrer, of
Canton, OH will be joined by drivers such as Tim Ice, Jerry Cook, Kuhlman,
Hantz, Tim Felver, Belott and many more as they also will tackle the Glass
City oval for 100 laps August 1.

was again added to the Toledo schedule to continue to bring race fans
top-notch traveling series to the ½ mile speedplant.
