Anderson Speedway Will
Host Two CRA Super Series Events in 2006
Salem, IN (December 7, 2005) –
Anderson Speedway, home of the famous Little 500 Sprint Car race, will
be the sight of two CRA Super Series events in 2006. The famous
high-banked quarter
 mile
racetrack located in Anderson, Indiana has hosted more CRA Super
Series events than any other track since the series first event ever
event on Saturday, April 26, 1997. Anderson Speedway has had a total
of 39 CRA Super Series events to date. Former two time series champion
Brian Ross is the all-time victory leader at Anderson Speedway with
nine victories.
Anderson Speedway was good to CRA
Super Series veteran racers in 2005. 2003 CRA Super Series Champion
Bobby Parsley got his 2005 season started with a victory in the CRA
Super Series 2005 season opener at Anderson Speedway on Saturday,
April 16th. Veteran late model racer Eddie Hoffman became
the first two-time series winner in 2005 by capturing his first ever
victory at Anderson Speedway in the Anderson 400 Presented By Great
Deals on Saturday, July 16th.
Rick Turner, the Y-town Hustler, won
his first CRA Super Series Race at his home track Anderson Speedway on
Saturday night August 13th in the Anderson 125 Presented By
Great Deals. Leading the last 95 laps of the 125-lap race,
Turner hung on despite a late charge from second place finisher Jeff
Lane, Turner piloted his Great Deals Ford to his first series win in
his 120th CRA Super Series Presented By Spray Power Event.
The first CRA Super Series event at
Anderson Speedway in 2006 will be held on Saturday, April 15th. The
track will host an open practice on the Friday evening prior to the
event to allow extra track time for series drivers to prepare for the
challenging ¼ mile high-banked track.
The CRA Super Series will be part of
the inaugural Anderson 300 on Saturday, July 15th with the
CRA Super Series competing in a 200-lap event and the CRA Street
Stocks competing in a 100-lap event. This event will be replacing the
Anderson 400.
