ASA Sanctioned Madison Late Models Invited to Run at NSTC
Rockford, IL- CRA Super Series officials have confirmed that
ASA Sanctioned Madison Late Models will be able to compete in the
Chicago International Trucks 200 on Sunday September 24 at
Rockford
Speedway. This is the headline event of the 41st annual National Short
Track Championships, paying $750 to start and $4,000 to the winner.
The Madison Late Models will be able to compete with their engine
package, engine setback and transmission rule while running at 2650
lbs. In addition these teams will be allowed to run the 6700 RPM chip
while utilizing the CRA Super Series mandated Hoosier 3035 and 3045
compound tires.
Illinois native Dan Lensing was able to work his way through the last
chance race in 2005, running this set of rules. After starting in the
26th position, the second generation racer methodically worked his way
through the field, passing nineteen cars to claim the Hard Charger of
the Race Award along with a seventh place finish at NSTC.
Lensing plans on running in the 2006 edition of the CRA Sanctioned
event. “Patience is going to be key, with this being a four tire race
I really look to make a strong move in the second half of the race.
The other cars have such an advantage in qualifying with horsepower,
but I think we will have an advantage in the race. I am going there to
win.”
The CRA Super Series will be making their fourth stop at the 59 year
old northern Illinois facility. With a total of twenty races on the
2006 schedule at venues such as Indianapolis Raceway Park, the series
is quickly becoming a favorite amongst Super Late Model racers in the
Midwest. For more information or to contact the CRA Super Series, call
