Tommy St. John Takes Over The
FLF Racecars/Cometic Gasket Rookie Of The Year Standings
Salem, IN (August 25, 2005) –
Indianapolis, Indiana native Tommy St. John, driver for Steve Keller
Motorsports, has now taken over the lead in the FLF Racecars/Cometic
Gasket
Rookie
Of The Year standings with just five CRA Super Series Presented By
Spray Power point’s events left on the 2005 schedule. St John’s
adjusted point total currently stands at 818 points in counting his
best eleven of the thirteen series points events raced so far this
season, each registered rookie gets to drop their to worst two
finishes during the season. St. John’s total points includes one
no-show when mechanical problems kept the team from making the
Columbus Motor Speedway event.
St. John has claimed four Cometic
Gasket Rookie Of The Race Awards in taking over the lead. Boris
Jurkovic, who is still second in the FLF Racecars/Cometic Gasket
Rookie Of The Year standings despite missing the last three series
events, has claimed five Cometic Gasket Rookie Of The Race Awards so
far this season. Jurkovic has 761 adjusted points, 57 points behind
St. John. St. John has three top ten finishes so far this season with
a best finish of 7th at Indianapolis Raceway Park on May 15th
and an 8th place finish in the Anderson 400 on July 16th.
St. John is currently 10th in overall CRA Super Series
points this season.
Independence, Missouri teenager Billy
Crane is currently in third in the FLF Racecars/Cometic Gasket Rookie
Of The Year standings with 740 points. Crane has continued to show
improvement on the track through out the season. Crane, by far is the
leased experienced racecar driver of the top rookie candidates
competing with the series in 2005. Crane got his first Cometic Gasket
Rookie Of The Race Award at the Berlin Raceway event on August 20th.
Jason Shively is currently fourth in
the FLF Racecars/Cometic Gasket Rookie Of The Year standings with 478
points. Jeff Bland Jr. is fifth with 360 points. Patrick Lawson is
sixth with 340 points and was the Cometic Gasket Rookie Of The Race
Award winner at the August 13th series event at Anderson
Speedway. Jason Setser is in seventh with 258 points, Setser has been
the Cometic Gasket Rookie Of The Race Award winner at two events this
season including the season opener at Anderson Speedway and at Berlin
Raceway were he finished second and was the events fast qualifier.
The battle for the FLF Racecars/Cometic
Gasket Rookie Of The Year will continue with the McGunegill Engine
Performance 100 at Winchester Speedway on Monday, September 5th
