Nashville
Event Removed from CRA's 2012 Schedule
Date
Conflicts Could not be Resolved to the Satisfaction of All Parties
Salem, IN
(January 3, 2012) - CRA Officials announced today that the
tentative date for Nashville's Fairgrounds Speedway
has
been pulled from the ARCA/CRA Super Series tentative 2012 schedule.
Lengthy discussions with the track were unable to lead to a solution
for scheduling problems.
According to
CRA co-owner R. J. Scott, "Nashville's track management decided that
the October 6th weekend was the only weekend they could run the
All-American, and we struggled with that, being the weekend of
LaCrosse Speedway's and ASA Midwest's "OctoberFest" and the weekend
before the Legendary Winchester 400. It just wasn't going to be fair
to the racers in those events, or those promoters, for CRA to try and
be involved with that weekend, if that was the weekend the event had
to be held in Nashville."
The original
date that scheduled by CRA was the last weekend in October, but
Nashville officials later determined that weekend would not work for
them and the only weekend they could run the event was the October 6th
weekend.
"It’s a
shame," noted ARCA/CRA Super Series Director and co-owner Glenn
Luckett. "Through the years we've got a lot of energy and work
invested in trying to keep quality Super Late Model events at
Nashville. The turmoil associated with the different promoters year
after year and the uncertainty of whether the track was even going to
be in existence made it tough to get a consistent foothold on a date
to run a big special event like the All American 400."
