(January 25, 2012)
- Anxious to get his season started, 17 year old Jared Marks and the
Tony Marks Racing crew are headed to the Watermelon Capitol Speedway
for this weekend’s 2012 SpeedFest for the ARCA/CRA SpeedFest 200. This
will be the first appearance for the Marks and the TMR gang at the
.375 mile short track, with Marks having only just over a handful of
starts in the CRA Series. Veteran crew chief Larry Moore will call the
shots for Marks with assistance from TMR’s regular ARCA Racing
Series
crew chief Ryan Chism. The off season has been a little unsettling for
Marks who has been keeping himself busy with high school and helping
the guys at the shop prepare for the upcoming 2012 race season in the
ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards. Marks comments, "After the
great test we had at Daytona in December for the ARCA Racing Series I
have been trying to fight off this racing bug, so we decided to give
this weekend’s event a shot. It looks like we have a pretty wide array
of drivers; it is exciting to know that I will be racing with top
level NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers like Kyle Busch and David
Ragan. Our #12 UNOH/TMT/Dodge Motorsports Dodge Charger should put us
in front running contention, the guys at the shop have been working on
the late model and our ARCA cars to get us ready for the upcoming
season and they have had their hands full. I appreciate all the hard
work they have been doing and hopefully it will pay off for them when
we get to Winners Circle."
The schedule of events for 2012 SpeedFest
will include of three days of racing starting on Friday, January 27th
with open practice, qualifying on Saturday, and the race on
Sunday afternoon, which includes an autograph session from 12:30-1:15.

Jared Marks schedule for the 2012 season
will be full time in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards with
the exception of Daytona and Talladega where the age limit rules will
keep him from competing on the two fastest tracks on the circuit. ARCA
officials allowed Marks to test at Daytona International Speedway this
past December where he put his #12 TMR Dodge Motorsports Dodge Charger
5th fastest overall out of 79 drivers taking laps at the
historical speedway.
