15 year
old, Kyle Plott Satisfied With First Major Pro Late Model Run.
Marietta,
GA
(January 30, 2012) - Kyle Plott was
extremely excited when he got the word from Dwayne Buggay, that he
could run his Late Model in the Pro class for Speedfest. This was the
first real test for Kyle at a major event with a lot of quality cars
from the southeast and further. During practice, Kyle posted speeds
from 14th to 17th fastest. Then after putting on new tires for
qualifying, the car came to life. Kyle qualified 6th and started the
race 6th. He rode in the top 5 for most of the race, trying to save
some tires for the end of the race. He raced hard with Bubba Pollard
and Daniel Hemric throughout the race, gaining valuable experience.
Kyle had
worked his way up to third and was catching the 2nd place car, when a
caution came out. Kyle said, "My car was better on a long run, so I
new when that caution came out late in the race, that it was going to
be tough to hold on to 3rd." He was right about the short run at the
end, since a couple of cars got around him at the end, and he finished
5th. Kyle was still happy about his run. After he climbed out of the
car, he said, "It is so much fun to race around drivers you can trust.
Congratulations to all the guys in front of me. I thought we were
going to end up with a top 3, but this 5th place run is good. I want
to thank CRA for a tremendous event. Thanks to everyone at Watermelon
Capitol Speedway. I also want to thank Dwayne Buggay, Jeff Holden,
David Ragan, Brett Ragan, Chris Dilbeck, Bond Suss, Jeff Fultz,
Russell Fleeman for all of their advise during this weekend. Also,
thanks to Rocky for doing a great job spotting for me."
Kyle hopes to
be able to put a deal together to run the "Rattler" in March. you can
