15 Year Old Cole Williams ready to make his 1st JEGS / CRA All-Stars Tour start

Sellersburg, IN (September 14, 2011) - Sellersburg's own Cole Williams has been preparing for this all season, his first venture into the Pro Late-Model Touring ranks. After numerous starts and success in 2011 throughout the Midwest in local events, the Williams Race Team will head to Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Indiana for the JEGS / CRA All-Stars Fall Brawl 100 Presented by JEGS the weekend of October 1-2.

After picking up 3 National Championships and 37 feature wins the previous 3 years in different small scaled touring type cars Cole made the jump to a full size Pro Late-Model for the 2011 race season.

To start the year the team stayed close to home and raced at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Cole made the transition to the bigger cars pretty smoothly and in only 2 starts was able to pick up (2) Top 10's and a Top 5 in his last visit to the facility.

The team then decided to start making the 6 hour journey to the ASA sanctioned I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri. Cole had experience at this speedway from 2010 when he had picked up the MMRA National Championship in the PRO division for 2/3 scale stock-cars. The full field of Late-Models showed to be the perfect track for Cole to gain experience. He was able to showcase his maturity throughout the season and earned respect from his fellow racers. He finished off with (5) Top 4's in a row including picking up his first ASA Late-Model sanctioned feature win.

Cole is going into the October race in Indianapolis with the goal of first, making the field, and second completing all the laps. Williams Racing has intentions of running Cole in the full JEGS / CRA All-Star Series in 2012 and shooting for Rookie of the Year honors. This race should provide them with a good feel of where their driver and team need to focus going into the off-season.

Cole will be driving his family owned #46 Chevrolet Impala with a Port City Chassis riding on RE Suspension shocks and powered by a Phil Harper prepared GM 604 Crate engine carrying sponsorship from: Jim Butner Auto Sales, JEGS.com, Cardinal Services, Rite-Way Industries, Jeff Taylor Performance, Dueser Electric, McAfee Trucking, Wallace Race Car Lettering, Compliance Safety and Fire, LeBody Shoppe, Heineman Upholstery, and Olymco.
