Over Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge Points Heading to
Lucas Oil Raceway

(September 26, 2011) – Three time CRA Super Series Champion and
current series points leader Scott Hantz as moved into the lead in the
Scott
Performance
Wire Five Race Challenge after the Challenge’s last event on Labor Day
at Winchester Speedway, were Hantz got a second place finish to winner
John VanDoorn. Hantz has a mere two point lead over CRA Super Series
leading Rookie of the Year candidate Derrick Griffin, who is also
second to Hantz in series Championship points, heading into this
weekend’s SealWrap Repair Tape 100 Presented by McGunegill Engine
Performance at Lucas Oil Raceway, the fifth and final event in the
Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge.
Griffin had
been the Challenge’s leader prior to the Winchester event, but his
ninth place finish in that event opened the door for Hantz to take
over. Fellow rookie candidate Mason Mingus is in third place, he is 24
points behind Griffin. Series veteran Kenny Tweedy is in fourth place,
he is 12 points behind Mingus. Nick Gullatta is in fifth place now, he
is 10 points behind Tweedy. Gullatta had been in second place in
Challenge points prior to Winchester, were contact in an accident
regulated him to a 28th place finish.

The Scott
Performance Wire Five Race Challenge is a performance award
program based upon five selected CRA Super Series point’s events
during the 2011 season. The first event in the Scott Performance Wire
Five Race Challenge was the May 30th event at Columbus
Motor Speedway, the second was on June 10th at M-40
Speedway, the third was on August 19th at Dixie Motor
Speedway and the fourth was on Labor Day at Winchester Speedway.
The Scott
Performance Wire Five Race Challenge will pay the driver who gets the
most series points in the five events an $800 bonus and a set of Scott
Performance Wires. The second place driver in the Scott Performance
Wire Five Race Challenge will receive a $500 bonus. The third place
driver in the Scott Performance Wire Five Race Challenge will receive
a $400 bonus.
Scott
Performance Wire will award the 2011 CRA National Late Model Champion
with a set of Scott Performance Wires. Also, the 2011 CRA Super Series
Champion and the 2011 CRA Southern Tour Champion will receive a set of
Scott Performance Wires. There will be an additional set of Scott
Performance Wires that will be given away at the 2011 CRA Awards
Banquet by a random draw of the top 15 in final CRA Super Series
points.
