Claude Plante Jr., ends Partnership with L.V. Alliance

Chesterfield Township, MI (September 7, 2011): Claude Plante Jr., a regular in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by GM Performance Parts has ended the partnership that was formed with L.V. Alliance at the beginning of the 2011 racing season, effective immediately.

The partnership between Plante Jr., and L.V. Alliance Car Owner, Larry Varney, which had intentions of running for the inaugural championship within the JEGS/CRA/GM tour, came to an end after the Big "O" Classic 100 Presented by JEGS.com on September 3rd at Plante Jr’s home track of Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan. Plante Jr., drove the #16 machine owned by Varney to a ninth place finish.

"I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to drive the #16 PassTimeUSA.com ride for Mr. Varney and I wish him well in his future endeavors." The Chesterfield Township, Michigan driver stated. "I’m hoping to be able to find another ride for these last three races in the JEGS/CRA/GM series. I’m eighth in the Drivers Points Standings, so hopefully I can pick up a ride to finish out the season." He added.

So far in the inaugural season for the Salem, Indiana based series, Plante Jr., sits eighth in the season long points chase, but is only 33 points out of third place as the 39-year-old veteran driver is in a log jam in the points battle as Josh Nelms, Chad Finley, Brandon Watson, Brent Downey, Cody Coughlin, and Plante Jr., are all in a tight battle for positions third through eighth.

In eight starts within the JEGS/CRA/GM series, Plante Jr., has recorded two top five finishes as both top fives are season high fourth place finishes at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio back on April 23rd in the VR-12 / Easter Bunny 100 Presented by JEGS.com and then again at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio on May 28th in the Coughlin Cars 100 Presented by JEGS.com.

In addition, Plante Jr., also has six top 10 finishes and all eight starts within the series have resulted in at least a top 15 showing. He’s also won the Five Star Racecar Bodies Hard-Charger Award within the series on three separate occasions during the Salem, Indiana based series’ inaugural season at Toledo, Dixie Motor Speedway, and Rockford Speedway.

"I have to thank Phil Harper at Phil Harper Motorsports for a great motor that I was able to put into the #16 car during the partnership with L.V. Alliance. I still have it to use if someone has a spare car for me to drive," Plante Jr., continued. "It’s got two races on it and I would love nothing more than to finish out the season at the Berlin Raceway, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, and the last one at Winchester Speedway." He ended.
