Hantz has
Full Weekend of Racing Planned with CRA Super Series and Glass City
200
Salem, IN
(September 29, 2011) – CRA veteran racer Scott Hantz has a full
weekend of racing planned for this coming weekend. The three time CRA
Super Series Champion, and current series points leader will compete
in Saturday’s Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200 Outlaw Super Late
Model event at Toledo Speedway and will also compete with the CRA
Super Series Sunday in the SealWrap Repair Tape 100 Presented by
McGunegill Engine Performance at Lucas Oil Raceway.
On Friday
Hantz will practice his EMF Corp Outlaw Super Late Model at Toledo
Speedway in their scheduled open practice. Then things get interesting
for him on Saturday because practice and qualifying for both events
will take place that afternoon. Hantz will practice his CRA Super
Series car on Saturday, then he will be the first qualifier for the
CRA Super Series, which is scheduled to qualify starting at 4:15pm
Saturday. As soon as he is done qualifying Hantz will then get on a
plane furnished by Great Lakes Helicopter to fly up to Toledo
Speedway, were he hopes to get one of three provisional starting
positions for the Glass City 200 based upon 2011 Gold Cup points were
he finished in eighth. If doesn’t get a provisional Hantz would have
to race his way in to the main event through a last chance race, which
will be tight for him to make based upon flying time to get there.
"This is
definitely going to be an interesting weekend for me," remarked Hantz.
"I really want to win a fourth CRA Super Series Championship, but I
also want to win the Glass City 200. This could be the last year I
have an opportunity to do either one, so thanks to Great Lakes
Helicopter and Jackie Poe my car owner, I have an opportunity to go
and race in both events this weekend. This could be the last Outlaw
Super Late Model event for our team, so hopefully I can go out with a
win."
Hantz
currently has a 38 point lead in CRA Super Series points over rookie
competitor Derrick Griffin with three point events left in the 2011
season, counting this weekend’s SealWrap Repair Tape 100 Presented by
McGunegill Engine Performance.
