Port City Racing to Sponsor CRA Super Series Event on September 24th
at Berlin Raceway

(September 15, 2011) – Berlin Raceway officials have announced
that Keyser’s Port City Racing will be the Title Sponsor of the CRA
Super Series event at their facility on Saturday, September 24th.
The Keyser’s Port City Racing 125 will be the thirteenth event that
the CRA Super Series has sanctioned at the 7/16’s mile challenging
oval located in Marne, Michigan. The father and son combination of
Fred and Brian Campbell have claimed six wins in the 14 races
contested to date at Berlin, they each have three wins. NASCAR Star
Kyle Bush is second with two wins while Tim Curry, Tom Thomas, Ross
Meeuwsen and three time CRA Super Series Champion Scott Hantz have one
victory apiece.
The Keyser’s
Port City Racing 125 will once again pit the best of CRA against
some
of the best local racers in the country. Current CRA Super Series
point’s leader Scott Hantz looks to continue his quest of a fourth
series title, while Derrick Griffin continues to challenge Hantz for
the points Championship and looks to claim the Rookie of the Year
title, which has only been claimed once by the same driver, which was
Hantz during the 2000 race season. Griffin is currently 38 points
behind Hantz with three series points’ events remaining in the 2011
season.
Other top
series drivers already entered for the Keyser’s Port City Racing 125
includes Terry Fisher Jr., rookie Mason Mingus, Kenny Tweedy, Jason
Dietsch, Nick Gullatta, Damon Ecoff, CJ Leary and Nate Caruth. Three
CRA regulars who have called Berlin home in the past are also entered
including 2009 and 2010 CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn who
won the series last event at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend,
also Brian Campbell who has two CRA Super Series wins this season at
Baer Field Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway and Jay Niewiek, who is
currently seventh in series points.
Several top
local drivers have also already entered the Keyser’s Port City Racing
125 including Terry VanHaitsma who won the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour
event at Berlin on September 10th, also Ross Meeuwsen, Tom
Thomas, Tim DeVos, Caleb Bisacky, Chris Anthony, Jordan Dahlke,
Brandon Hermiller and Gabe Ensing.
