Hantz Take CRA Super Series Harris Products Group Season Lap Leader

(October 22, 2011) – 15 year old Chase Elliott and three time CRA
Super Series Champion Scott Hantz have won the 2011 Harris Products
Group Season Lap Leader Awards for the CRA Super Series 2011 season.
Elliott was the Harris Products Group Season Lap Leader in the special
event extra distance point races while Hantz was the Harris Products
Group Season Lap Leader in the regular 100/125-lap series point’s
events on the 2011 schedule.

Elliott
finished with a total 264 laps lead in the Redbud 300 and Winchester
400 to barely beat out 2011 series Champion and Rookie of the Year
Derrick Griffin by two laps. Series veteran Jeff Lane was third with
140 laps lead, Hantz was fourth in that category with only 18 laps
lead with Boris Jurkovic the Winchester 400 winner in fifth place with
five laps lead.
Hantz finished
with a total of 155 laps lead in the regular 100/125-lap series
point’s events, topping Becca Kasten who was in second with 121 laps
lead. Two time series Champion John VanDoorn was third with 118 laps
lead. Steve Dorer and Jurkovic were tied for fourth with 112 laps
lead. Hantz was the series lap leader in the special event extra
distance point races in 2010 while VanDoorn took the award in the
regular 100/125-lap series point’s events.
The Harris
Products Group, a division of Lincoln Electric, will award Elliott and
Hantz with a set of the Harris Products Group Cutting Torches. Both
awards will be presented at the 2011 Champion Racing Association
Awards Banquet.
