Earns Second Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award

(October 21, 2011) – Jay Niewiek has earned the 2011 Cometic
Gasket Hardcharger Award for the just completed 2011 CRA Super
Series
season. Niewiek gained 132 positions in 13 events during the season,
including gaining 15 positions in last Sunday’s 40th Annual
Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway. This is the second season in a
row that Niewiek has claimed the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Award,
last year he gained 104 total positions. Niewiek also finished sixth
in overall series Championship points in 2011, it was his second
season competing with the CRA Super Series.
Series veteran
Kenny Tweedy finished second with 81 gained positions. Jason Dietsch
was third with 69 gained positions. Rookie Mason Mingus was fourth
with 51 gained positions while Colin Nickolai finished fifth with 39
gained positions.
Cometic
Gasket, the Official Gasket of the CRA Super Series, will award a
$500 cash bonus to Niewiek at the 2011 Champion Racing Association
Awards Banquet. A driver had to be in the top 15 in series points to
be eligible for that award.
