Ruston to Raise Funding for Racing 2 Cure
at 44th Annual Snowball Derby
Mooresville, NC (November 16, 2011) -
Kenzie Ruston announced
today that her car and teams entry into the 44th Annual Snowball Derby
at Five Flags Speedway on December 3rd will partner for the second
year in a row to raise funding and awareness in support of non-profit
organization Racing 2 Cure. In last year’s event Ruston raised over
four-thousand dollars in route to her top 10 finish during the
Snowflake 100.
In last year’s effort Ruston raised funds
within a 3 day time period. This year the team is starting a little
earlier than that with hopes of doubling their contributions from last
year.
"To know that I have such great sponsors,
fans, and family that stepped up and donated last year was very
humbling," said Ruston. "I’m challenging every one of my family
members, friends, fans and competitors to step up and let’s beat last
year’s amount. If we can help Racing 2 Cure accomplish its mission we
know that no matter what happens on the track it’s a victory."
Anyone can show their support by going to
Ruston’s Racing 2 Cure page and making a donation. One-Hundred percent
of funds raised will go to support the cause of the non-profit, which
helps families fighting cancer.
"I’m really looking forward to this race,"
added Ruston. "I feel good about our team’s chances along with our
efforts to raise awareness for Racing 2 Cure. We all know someone who
is or has dealt with any form of Cancer and here is your chance to
help."
