Special from Novak Motorsports

18-year-old Rookie Title Contender Jimmy Novak heads to Columbus Motor Speedway with JEGS/CRA

Dryden, MI (May 25, 2011) - Jimmy Novak knows that the majority of the tracks on the 2011 schedule for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts are facilities that the 18-year-old Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year title contender has never seen before. The next stop on the tour is one of those tracks.

The next race on the 2011 schedule for the Novak Motorsports Team is on Saturday, May 28th at the 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked circular paved oval of Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio for the running of the CoughlinCars.com 100 Presented by JEGS.com.

"I'm disappointed that Illiana got rained out, but I’m looking forward to Columbus." The Dryden, Michigan freshman stated as he referenced the postponed event at Illiana Motor Speedway from May 14th, which was rescheduled to July 16th. "I haven't been there before, so hopefully we figure it out. We learned a lot about the new car and made so big gains on it in testing. So we’ll just go to Columbus with an open mind, try to keep the car in one piece and get a good finish out of it." He ended.

In the series inaugural race at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio back on April 23rd, he qualified 15th out of a field of 39 of the top notch drivers in the country at one of the most historic tracks in the country. After getting up to as high as 11th, a lap 34 accident ended the Howie Lettow Memorial Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing Enterprises title contenders’ night. He was shown 23rd in the official running order.

In the downtime between JEGS/CRA/GM races, Novak has revisited Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan, the site of one of his three 2010 Rookie of the Year titles and finished second in the tracks opening night festivities on May 6th, and after leading 11 laps in the feature on May 20th, an accident in front of him due to several lapped cars getting together ended his night early.
