Special From Dan Leeck Racing
Hard Luck at Toledo for Dan Leeck.
Optimism Heading to Illiana This Saturday, May 14th
Birch Run, MI (May 11, 2011) - To say
that the field was loaded from top to bottom at the Inaugural race for
the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts would be
an understatement. Just ask Dan Leeck, who like the other 38 teams who
made the trip to Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio on April 23rd
found this out the hard way over the Easter holiday weekend.

The 21-year-old qualified a disappointing 32nd
out of the 39 teams on the grounds and was forced to run the Last
Chance Race. He was able to transfer into the VR-12 Easter Bunny 100
Presented by JEGS.com and would start the 100-lap feature from deep in
the field; On the outside of the 15th row in 30th
out of the 32-car starting field.
Leeck knew that he’d have his work cut out
for him if his #12 Mr. Asphalt Chevrolet was going to end up with a
good finish. Unfortunately, Leeck never found out how good his car
would be as a turns one and two crash on the opening lap involving
several teams in front of him resulted in Leeck having nowhere to go
and he slammed the outside retaining wall, ending his night way to
prematurely for his liking.
"Not the way we wanted to start the season
with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour." Stated Leeck. "We struggled a bit
in Practice. It was our first time at Toledo, but at least we made the
show with the talent that was there. The car is fixed and we’re all
ready to head down to Illiana for the next race." The Birch Run,
Michigan native added.
Race #2 for the Mr. Asphalt Team is on
Saturday, May 14th as the JEGS/CRA/GM team heads South to
Illiana Motor Speedway, a ½ (0.500) mile semi-banked paved oval
located in the Chicagoland region of the country in Schererville,
Indiana for the running of the Illiana 100 Presented by JEGS.com.
Leeck and the crew are excited to be getting back on the track and are
looking for a much better finish this time around.
"Our goal is to make every show in the
JEGS/CRA/GM tour this season and finish well. We want top 10 finishes
and eventually top five’s will come, and hopefully a win or two." He
continued. "I know we can be competitive and run with these guys.
Hopefully we can prove that starting this weekend." Leeck ended.
For the remainder of the 2011 racing season,
Leeck’s familiar Orange #12 Chevrolet Impala will carry decals from
Mr. Asphalt as well as
FLF Racecars, Hedman Hussler Headers,
M&W Crane Service, Gary’s Towing, Speedway Grafix, M.P.H. Promotions,
and Dan Leeck Racing,
