Salem, IN (May 3, 2011) – After two consecutive postponements because of weather, Champion Racing Association looks to try and open its 2011 CRA Super Series racing season for its Northern Tour at Anderson Speedway this Saturday, which is a make-up event that was originally scheduled for April 16^th but was postponed until this Saturday because of cold and rain. The famous high-banked quarter mile racetrack located in Anderson, Indiana has hosted more CRA Super Series events than any other track since the series’ first ever event on Saturday, April 26, 1997. Anderson Speedway has hosted a total of 48 CRA Super Series events to date. Former two time series champion Brian Ross is the all-time series victory leader at Anderson Speedway with nine victories.

2009 and 2010 CRA Super Series Champion Johnny Van Doorn heads the list of competitors entered for Saturday’s Seal Wrap 125 Presented by Great Deals. Van Doorn has a total of three victories at Anderson Speedway, including the last two seasons opening events at Anderson. Other former Anderson winners who are entered include Scott Hantz, also a three time winner at Anderson, 1997 series Champion Kenny Tweedy who has four victories at Anderson, two time winners Jeff Lane and Rick Turner are entered along with Peter Cozzolino and Jim Crabtree Jr. who have one win apiece.

Lane will be recognized Saturday as he becomes the first CRA Super Series competitor to make 200 starts when he takes the green flag for Saturday’s Seal Wrap 125 Presented by Great Deals. Hantz is currently second in starts with 186, Turner and Tweedy are tied for third with the most series starts with 184 apiece.

Other top CRA Super Series drivers entered for Saturday’s event include Joe Beaver, Aaron Pierce, Terry Fusher Jr., Jason Dietsch, Tyler Roahrig, Robert Maynor, Damon Ecoff, Colin Nickolai, Jay Niewiek, and Nick Gullatta. The series has a good group of registered Rookie of the Year candidates entered including Derrick Griffin, Mason Mingus, Matt Hall, Justin Alsip, Colin Toland and David Carter.

Ross Kenseth, son of NASCAR Champion Matt Kenseth, is entered for Saturday’s event. He debuted at Anderson last July in the Welch & Wilson Motorsports Redbud 300 leading the initial 29 circuits before dropping out of contention on lap 64 after mechanical troubles hampered his No. 25 Ford. He looks to try and get his first Anderson victory and his third overall CRA Super Series victory Saturday night.

Topeka, Kansas racer Jenny White will make the long haul to compete in Saturday’s event. White was a competitor at the now closed I-70 Speedway and at I-44 Speedway in Missouri. She raced last year in the USLMA Series, winning two events along with five fast times and finished second in series points. Former CRA Super Series regular Greg Boone from Louisville, Kentucky has entered Saturday’s event. Boone returns to late model competition after a couple of years away racing vintage motorcycles.

There will be an open practice at Anderson Speedway on Friday. Pits open at 4pm, practice will run from 5pm until dark. Pits open on Saturday at 1pm. Practice will begin at 4pm with qualifying starting at 6:15pm. The race program will begin at 8pm and will include the Seal Wrap 125 Presented by Great Deals plus racing from the Anderson Speedway Late Models, Thundercars and FWD Figure 8’s.
