All-Stars Tour to Race at Illiana Motor Speedway on May 14th

(March 31, 2011) – CRA and Illiana Motor Speedway officials
announced today that the new JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM
Performance Parts
will
race at Illiana Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 14th. That
date had been listed as a TBA, the new crate late model series will
now have 11 scheduled events for the 2011 season beginning with the
series season opener on April 23rd at Toledo Speedway.
The famed
Chicagoland race track located in Schererville, Indiana is owned and
promoted by local businessman Mike Mikuly, and is the last Indiana
asphalt racetrack to have template Super Late Models competing every
week.
"We are really
looking forward to having the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at Illiana this
year," remarked Mikuly. "There is a lot of excitement about this new
series, it is the talk of late model racing right now. Between the
series regulars and all our local crate motor cars, we should have a
huge car count and a very exciting race!"
CRA has been
at Illiana Motor Speedway in the past with the CRA Super Series which
has
had a total of six events there, with local veteran Eddie Hoffman
taking the most wins with two. Other local drivers who went to victory
lane in the CRA events include former Illiana Motor Speedway Champions
Dave Weltmeyer and Boris Jurkovic. Hoffman’s TK Racing has already
committed to compete for the 2011 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by
GM Performance Parts Championship. Other Illiana area drivers who will
be competing with the series in 2011 include Josh Nelms, Wes Griffith
Jr. and Marc Hankosky.
