Salem, IN (March 18, 2011) - During the off-season, Veteran
Photographer, Chuck Gonzalez was hired on by Champion Racing
Association (CRA) as the new Official Photographer for the new
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts. Fast
forward two months later, and the Lansing, Illinois resident can also
add a few more roles to his list of duties within the Salem, Indiana
based series.
In addition to his role with JEGS/CRA/GM, Gonzalez has also added
the title of Official
Photographer
for CRA’s premiere series, the CRA Super Series for the 2011 racing
season. In addition, Gonzalez and his wife, Sandy will also be
handling the Fan Gear merchandise and sales for both the Super Series
and JEGS/CRA/GM during the year as well.
"I was already really happy to be a part of the inaugural season
with JEGS/CRA/GM. Now to be able to add the CRA Super Series and be
responsible for the Fan Gear merchandise for both series’ is really
quite a task that my wife and I are certainly up for." Stated the
49-year-old Chicagoland native. "I can’t wait to get started and get
to the track and shoot photos. My wife is just ecstatic as I am to be
a part of such a prestigious organization." He ended.
Gonzalez is a 20-year veteran of all forms of motorsports
photography. As the Owner/President of CG Photos, has been a fixture
in the Chicagoland racing scene for his entire career. Over his
career, Gonzalez’s work has been published in many national and
regional motorsports publications including; Late Model Digest, Dirt
Late Model, Stock Car Racing, Circle Track Magazine, Speedway
Illustrated, Muddslinger, National Dirt Digest, Behind the Wheel,
Midwest Racing News, and many others.
Gonzalez’s career began in 1991 shooting photos at various pavement
facilities throughout Illinois and Indiana. In 1995, he expanded his
efforts to dirt tracks in both states and in 1997, he joined Kankakee
Speedway and LaSalle Speedway as each tracks’ Official Photographer.
In addition to his roles at both facilities, he also began traveling
to many special events within the dirt late model racing world.
In 2003, Gonzalez went back to the pavement side and was named the
Official Photographer at Illiana Motor Speedway where he stayed until
the end of the 2006 season when he was asked to join the now defunct
ASA Late Model Series after the legendary Bob Milner passed away
suddenly in September of 2006. Gonzalez stayed with that series until
the end of the 2010 campaign when the series folded. During the
2009-2010 seasons, Gonzalez and his wife Sandy handled all of the Fan
Gear Merchandise and Sales for the series.

The 2011 racing season kicks off for the Sullivan RV CRA Late Model
Sportsman Series, EDCO Welding CRA Street Stock Series, and Vore’s
Welding & Steel CRA Front Wheel Drive Compact Series on Sunday, April
10th at the Plymouth Speedway, a 3/8s (0.375) mile
semi-banked paved oval located in Plymouth, Indiana with the running
of the Cabin Fever 200. There will be a Full Tech Day as well as a
Test and Tune the day before on Saturday, April 10th.
A week later, the premiere series within the organization, the CRA
Super Series 2011 racing season for the Northern Division begins on
Saturday, April 16th at the fast ¼ (0.250) mile high-banked
paved oval of Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana for the running
of the Anderson 125 Presented by Great Deals Magazine. There will be a
Full Tech Day as well as a Test and Tune the day before on Friday,
April 15th.
Finally the inaugural season for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented
by GM Performance Parts begins on Saturday, April 23rd with
the running of the JEGS 100 on the famed ½ mile high-banks of Toledo
Speedway, located just south of the Michigan / Ohio state line in
Toledo, Ohio. There will be a Full Tech Day as well as a Test and Tune
the day before on Friday, April 22nd.
