Special From Dan Leeck Racing
Dan Leeck to take on the JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour at his Home Track
Birch Run, MI (June 15, 2011) -
There’s nothing like coming home when a traveling series you’re racing
in sees its’ schedule come around to your home track. For Birch Run,
Michigan native, Dan Leeck, that time has come as his home track of
Dixie Motor Speedway awaits the cars and stars of the JEGS/CRA
All-Stars Tour.
"I have been waiting for this race since I
heard the series was going to Dixie," The
excited
21-year-old stated. "This being my home track should be an advantage.
My crew and I have both agreed if I have a shot to win one of these
JEGS/CRA races, this would be this one." He added.
In the old Northern Late Model Series that
raced at the 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked d-shaped paved
oval in August 2010; Leeck finished an impressive third driving for
T.D. Racing Development. This time around with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars
Tour, the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com, Leeck and crew have had
ample time to prepare their own #112 Mr. Asphalt Chevrolet.
"I really need to thank everyone who has
helped prepare for this race; My Parents, Uncle Tom, Shock Specialist
Tom Craze, and especially my Crew Chief Robbie Johnson. Also to all my
sponsors as well." The appreciative driver continued. "We’ve all been
working hard and trying different things to the car in preparation for
this weekend and now it’s time to see if it pays off." Leeck ended.
In Leeck’s only other JEGS/CRA appearance,
back on April 23rd at Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio for
the series’ inaugural event, he was able to transfer into the VR-12
Easter Bunny 100 Presented by JEGS.com and would start the 100-lap
feature from deep in the field; On the outside of the 15th
row in 30th out of the 32-car starting field.
Unfortunately, Leeck never found out how
good his car would be as a turn one and two crash on the opening lap
involving several teams in front of him resulted in Leeck having
nowhere to go and he slammed the outside retaining wall, ending his
night way to prematurely for his liking.
For the remainder of the 2011 racing season,
Leeck’s familiar Orange #12 Chevrolet Impala will carry decals from
Mr. Asphalt as well as
FLF Racecars, Hedman Hussler Headers,
M&W Crane Service, Gary’s Towing, Speedway Grafix, M.P.H. Promotions,
and Dan Leeck Racing.
