Special from Trgovich Racing
Josh Nelms Heads to the Site of the
Biggest Win of his Career This Weekend; Rockford Speedway
Lockport, IL (July, 26, 2011) - No
matter what happens when the 2011 racing season is all said and done,
Josh Nelms is going to look back on the first two races of the
inaugural season for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM
Performance Parts and wonder what might’ve been. After two efforts
he’d like to forget, the last three races have been much more what
he’s expected all along.

Race #5 of the inaugural season for the
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts was at
Nelms’ Car Owners home track; Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville,
Indiana for the Illiana 100 Presented by JEGS.com. Like the previous
event at Anderson, this race was postponed back on May 14th
due to the weather and was rescheduled for July 16th.
After Qualifying fifth in the 21-car field,
the Lockport, Illinois driver just missed the four inversion and would
start the 100-lap main from the inside of the third row. After falling
back in the beginning stages, Nelms rallied back to his original
starting spot and then gained one more position for good measure to
bring home his third consecutive top four finish with a fourth in the
Illiana 100.
"Illiana has always been good to me in the
past and this last race was no exception." The 35-year-old remarked.
"Practice went great at first, and then we had tire issues. The team
busted their butts to get more tires mounted and we were able to get
back out for some more track time. We were happy with Qualifying and
in the race, we fell back, but the car came in and we had to work to
get back up to where we started. I was happy to take fourth, but the
car was just too loose to progress any further." He added.
With his third consecutive top four finish
to go which included a third at Dixie Motor Speedway on June 17th
and a fourth place showing at Anderson Speedway on July 9th,
Nelms has place himself solidly in sixth place in the season long
points chase and is only eight markers back of Erik Jones for the
coveted top five.
In addition, second through seventh are
separated by 23 points led by second place Chad Finley. Brandon
Watson, Brent Downey, Jones, Nelms, and Claude Plante Jr., are also
mixed in that bunch. Current series points leader, Eddie Hoffman, the
winner at Illiana has a 52 point advantage over Finley while Nelms is
71 back on the points leader heading into the next race at a track
where both Nelms and Hoffman are expected to battle for the win.
Rockford Speedway in Loves Park, Illinois is
the site for the ½ way point of the inaugural season for the
JEGS/CRA/GM tour on Saturday, July 30th. The Stanley
Steemer 100 Presented by JEGS.com is "the" race that Nelms has had
circled on his calendar since the JEGS/CRA/GM schedule came out this
past winter. Nelms was the winner of one of the most prestigious short
track races in the country, the National Short Track Championships
back in 2009 ironically driving for T.K. Racing, Hoffman’s car owner.
"I’ve been waiting for this race all season
long. I want to keep the momentum going with this recent string of
consistent finishes," Nelms continued. "If there ever was a time where
we’re considered one of the favorites to win one of these JEGS/CRA/GM
races, this one is it! We’re turned many many laps around that place."
He ended.
Nelms, driving one of the stalwart machines
in the series, steers the quickly becoming familiar with JEGS/CRA/GM
fans’ black #11 Trgovich Racing Ford Fusion with sponsorship stickers
adorning the car from: Ray Szarmach Attorney at Law as well as Thrifty
Kleen Cleaners, OSC Designs, and M.P.H. Promotions. To learn more
