Delta, Ohio (July 27, 2011) This weekend LV
Alliance/PasstimeUSA.com Chevrolet and driver Claude Plante are
heading to the tight confines of the Rockford Speedway for the Stanley
Steemer All Star 100. Team LV Alliance is looking to rebound from
their last outing; the team was handed their first DNF of the season.
The teams strong start this season in the JEGS/CRA ALL-STAR TOUR
started out with two top five finishes in the season’s first two races
at Toledo and Columbus Speedways followed by two more top ten finishes
at the Dixie and Anderson Speedways that kept the team in the top five
in the season point battle through the first four races of the season.
When race five rolled around at the Illiana Speedway things didn’t go
as planned as the team was forced to drop out on lap 75 with handling
problems.
LV Alliance owner Larry Varney was open about what
happened at Illiana "We just missed the set-up", said Varney.
"Sometimes you think you have the right set-up in the car when you
unload the car only to find something is just off and you spend the
rest of the day chasing it. Claude and the Passtime USA crew worked
hard all day to get the car better and we thought we would get better
as the race went on but it was just one of those nights". Varney who
has been in racing most of his life was a bit disappointed after a
long hot day and night of racing. "We hate dropping out of any race,
but it happens. Claude has been racing a long time and knows when
you’re just better off parking it for the night. Claude has done a
great job for us all season behind the wheel and he’s been better than
our finishes have shown. In this type of close racing sometimes you
end up in somebody else’s mess and you have to work harder than you
should to gain those spots back; that’s racing." related Varney.
"We will get this worked out", said Plante who maintains
the car during the week out of his shop in Chesterfield Michigan.
"This Howe chassis Chevy is a great piece and we are going to make
some changes this week before we head out to Rockford. We have new
stuff to try out that we know is going to make a difference." "We want
to get back in the top five in points after this next race and we have
the car to do it with. We hope that we can keep the fenders on it, but
sometimes that’s hard to do on a quarter mile like Rockford," said
Plante.
Varney who has been in short track racing for years just
loves this series. "We are having a great time this season running in
the JEGS/CRA ALL-STAR TOUR. This is a great series for us and with the
backing of JEGS/CRA ALL-STAR TOUR we know this series is only going to
get better and better for everyone involved. This type of close short
track racing is great for the fans, teams and sponsors. We have been
able to bring on PasstimeUSA.com this season and their support truly
means a lot to the team. The JEGS/CRA ALL-STAR TOUR enables companies
like PasstimeUSA.com to jump into the sport and see what a motorsports
program can do for brand awareness and their bottom line," stated
longtime car owner Varney. With PasstimeUSA.com, Chevy, and Howe
Chassis we have all the pieces in place to run up front. Now, if we
can just get Lady Luck on our side we would have it made" said Varney
with a smile. The LV Alliance team has sponsorship opportunities
available at all levels of participation. Interested parties can
