Busy Weekend Continues for Lorz Motorsports with JEGS/CRA Racing & Wes Griffith Jr., at Rockford

Midlothian, IL (July 28, 2011) - A busy weekend is in store for Lorz Motorsports over the weekend of July 28-30th as Lorz returns to racing with the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards in a joint venture with Venturini Motorsports at 0.686 mile semi-banked paved oval of Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Indiana on Thursday, July 28th for the Ansell Protective Gloves 200.

Elgin, Illinois pilot, A.J. Henriksen, will steer the #35 Engineered Components Ford for the Lorz / Venturini combination. Afterwards, the crew returns home to Midlothian, Illinois to unload the ARCA car and then load the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by GM Performance Parts machine driven by Wes Griffith Jr., and from there, the team makes the short drive north to Rockford Speedway in Loves Park, Illinois on Saturday, July 30th for the Stanley Steemer 100 Presented by JEGS.com.

"Man what a busy weekend we have! After running the ARCA race in Indianapolis, we’ll head back home and get ready for the JEGS/CRA/GM race with Wes (Griffith Jr.)" A busy Car Owner, Mike Lorz stated as he and the crew busily prepared two different cars for two different series’ throughout the week leading into the weekend. "We’re looking to get back on track with Wes and I think we’ll be able to do that at Rockford."

In Griffith Jr.’s last race, the Illiana 100 Presented by JEGS.com at Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana, on July 16th, what started out as a good day turned bad for the team; "We had bad race at Illiana. The car was good all day for practice and we qualified ninth, so I figured we had a good chance for a top five, but once the race started the car became very loose, so we came down pit road under a caution and made an adjustment sent him back out and still the car was not right." He explained.

On lap 41, Griffith Jr., felt something in the rear end give out, so without taking a chance on further damaging the car, Lorz made the call to bring in the Crown Point, Indiana driver and after surveying the machine, they called it a night. "We’ll get them this weekend at Rockford. We had a good car at Anderson, so we should be good at Rockford also. We’ll just keep working hard and good results will come." Lorz ended.

Heading into the lone Prairie State appearance for the Salem, Indiana based series, Griffith Jr., is sitting in 10th place in the season long points chase, only six points back of Rookie Jimmy Novak who is ninth and 18 markers behind eighth place, Cody Coughlin, another freshman in the series (378-366-360). Griffith Jr., is also 70 points outside of the coveted top five in the chase for the inaugural JEGS/CRA/GM Championship.

Griffith Jr., will once again climb behind the wheel of the #76 Gorilla Glue Ford Fusion as he’ll also carry additional sponsorship support and decals from; A.S.I. Adhesive Systems, Edca Auto Body, Marcotte’s Bar & Grill, Auto Meter, ISC Racers Tape, Behling Racing Equipment, Aurora Bearing Company, M.P.H. Promotions, and Lorz Motorsports.
