Chase Elliott Builds His Own Legend

Salem, IN (July 27, 2011) - Although he’s 15 years old, Chase Elliott has proven time and time again that it doesn’t matter how old you are to race a car, but how dedicated and talented you are as a driver. Already at an early age, Chase has created an impressive resume and has built a list of wins many drivers could only dream of. Having already won the Snowflake 100 and Blizzard Series Champion 2010 at Five Flags Speedway, the Winchester 400, and Sweeping the Speedfest 200 super late models and Speedfest 150 at Lanier National Speedway to start the 2011 season to just name a few.

Elliott is not an unfamiliar name to the racing world, Chase is the son of legendary NASCAR driver Bill Elliott who won the NASCAR championship and many races throughout his career, also being voted the most popular driver throughout the 80’s and 90’s. Chase said "I think it’s pretty cool having my Dad as my mentor because he has so much knowledge."

Being signed with Hendricks Motorsports at a young age has also given him many opportunities. "It’s great to be with the organization" Elliott commented. His racing career after the young man turns 18 "All depends on what Mr. Hendricks thinks."

Along with having his Dad as his racing mentor, the other person behind the scenes on his support team is his mother, Cindy. "It’s not easy being the mother of a race car driver but after watching him drive, I have gained a lot of confidence after seeing Chase’s driving style is like Bill’s". But that does not mean she just sits and watches him race. "It doesn’t get easier watching him race, but staying preoccupied with taking pictures and focusing on one section of the track has helped me deal with stress of watching him drive. "

On Monday, August 1 Chase will attempt to make his second start in the Redbud 300. Grabbing a Top Ten finish in his first Redbud Chase hopes to improve on that in 2011. Chase will be signing autographs along with his father Bill in the pre-race. Racing against some of the toughest competitors on one of the nation’s toughest tracks is Elliott’s next challenge. A challenge this new Elliott legend is up to.
