SUPERPRO RETURNS TO WINCHESTER

 

The SUPERPRO Series for late model stock cars will make its second 2010 appearance with the running of the Penske Racing Shocks 50 at the historic Winchester Speedway during the 39th Annual Winchester 400 weekend on October 15, 16, and 17.

 

Al Cook, Jr. returns to the track where he scored his first SUPERPRO victory in August. Al’s brother Tommy, who has clinched the 2010 SUPERPRO Championship, Jason Dietsch, Kevin Todd, Claude Plante, Mike Kugler, Rick Everidge, Matt Hall, 2010 Turbo Blue Racing Gas - Corrigan Oil Rookie of the Year Reagan May, Derek Griffin, Eric Barcus, Justin Matson, Wes Griffith, and Royce Mason II will be among the drivers in competition on the high banked half mile oval.

 

The action begins Friday with open practice for all divisions and features for the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsmen, CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts. Racing begins at 7 pm. Saturday’s events include practice and qualifying for the Winchester 400 and feature races for the SUPERPRO Series, USA Modifieds, Howe CRA Late Model Sportsmen and CRA Street Stocks. The green flag drops at 5 pm. The weekend concludes Sunday with the running of the 39th annual Winchester 400 at 2 pm.

 

For this race only, the SUPERPRO Series tire rule will be either the American Racer EC 31 and EC 51 or the Hoosier F40 and F50 CRA Super Series tire. In addition, the winner of the SUPERPRO race will be guaranteed starting spot in Sunday’s Winchester 400 and have the use of a race ready engine from McGunegill Racing Engines.
