1998 CRA Super Series Champion Brian Rievley has pre-entered the
McGunegill Engine Performance 100 at Winchester Speedway slated for
Sunday,
September
5 and Monday, September 6. This event will mark the second occasion
Rievley has competed with the series during the 2010 season.
"I’m looking forward to getting back into the racecar at
Winchester," said Brian Rievley. "My main goal this weekend is
providing good feedback on the setup so we have a good handling car
for the Winchester 400. If we have a car capable of winning on Labor
Day then we’ll give it our best shot. Our main focus is building on
what we have so we can run at ORP and then the Winchester 400."
In Rievley’s return to Winchester Speedway, he will drive the
familiar No. 1 with sponsorship backing from Sam Pierce Chevrolet
aboard his Rievley Motorsports car. Besides his appearance in the CRA
Super Series he will also compete in the CRA Street Stock division.
"We have a busy weekend planned. Racing the Street Stock will be a
lot of fun and will help me in getting back into racing shape for the
Winchester 400," added Rievley.
Plans right now call for Rievley to compete at Winchester and then
the Welch & Wilson Motorsports Rock N Race 100 at O’Reilly Raceway
Park on September 18. He will then return to the famed half mile oval
on October 16-17 for the 39th Annual Winchester 400.

The most recent CRA Super Series appearance for Rievley was a
strong performance with a runner-up showing in last year’s Winchester
400, crossing the finish line behind NASCAR star Kyle Busch. Prior to
his second-place finish, Rievley led 18 laps in the grueling 400-lap
event last October.
"There is something special about racing at Winchester in the fall.
I grew up as a kid watching races at Winchester and many of the top
racecars drivers competed over the years. It would be extremely
special to win the Winchester 400. That is the one big races my dad
(Bill Rievley) hasn’t won."
Rievley, of Alexander, Ind., earned the inaugural CRA Super Series
feature victory at Winchester Speedway in September of 1997. He
finished ahead of eventual series champion Kenny Tweedy and veteran
Rick Turner.
One of the original stars of the series, Rievley finished among the
top three in championship standings from 1997-1999 with his best
season the ’98 title winning season. In his CRA Super Series career,
he has collected four wins and four fast time awards. He ranks seventh
all-time with 36-top five finishes and 14th in top 10s with
43.
The CRA Super Series returns to action in the McGunegill Engine
Performance 100 at the historic Winchester Speedway for the annual
Labor Day tradition on Sunday, September 5 and Monday, September 6.
