Harris Products Group Season Lap Leader Award for Regular Events

– 2009 CRA Super Series Champion and current series points leader John
VanDoorn is the 2010 Harris Products Group Season Lap Leader Award
winner for the CRA Super Series regular 100 and 125 lap point events.
VanDoorn lead a total of 228 laps in the eight events in this
category, which ended with last week’s 100-lap event at ORP. VanDoorn
started out the 2010 season by leading all 125 laps in getting the win
in the season opener at Anderson Speedway. VanDoorn lead the final 38
laps at the Toledo event to get the win and the final 65 laps at
Winchester on Labor Day to also get that win.
Tommy St. John was second with 176
laps lead including 51 at the May
Winchester
event and he lead all 125 laps in getting the July 4th
victory at Angola Motor Speedway. Brian Campbell finished third with
121 laps lead, 91 of those came in getting the victory at Berlin
Raceway in May and in August at Columbus Motor Speedway were he lead
the last 30 laps in getting the win. Other drivers leading laps in
this category in 2010 included Tyler Nuckles, Ross Kenseth, Joey
Miller, Scott Hantz, T.J. Reaid, Johnny Benson Jr. and Josh Hamner.
The Harris Products Group, a division
of Lincoln Electric, will award the John VanDoorn, as the leader in
the most laps in the regular 100/125-lap series point’s events on the
2010 schedule, with a set of the Harris Products Group Cutting
Torches. In addition, The Harris Products Group will award the leader
in the special event extra distance point races on the 2010 CRA Super
Series schedule, with a set of Harris Products Group Cutting Torches.
Both awards will be presented at the 2010 Champion Racing Association
Awards Banquet.
Three time series Champion Scott
Hantz is the current lap leader in the special event extra distance
point races with 216 laps lead. Hantz lead 66 laps in the Plymouth
event in July and lead 150 laps in getting the win in the Redbud 300
at Anderson Speedway in July. Eddie Hoffman is in second with 126 laps
lead, all those came in getting the win in the Plymouth event. Kyle
Busch is third with 62 laps lead in the Redbud 300. Other drivers who
have lead laps in this category include Chase Elliott, Ross Kenseth
and Tyler Roahrig.
There are still two special event
extra distance point races left in the 2010 CRA Super Series season
starting with the series 200 lap event with the All American 400 at
Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville on October 2nd and the 39th
Annual Winchester 400 Presented by EDCO Welding & Hydraulic at
Winchester Speedway on October 17th.
