Wire Five State Challenge to be Decided at Concord Speedway

Salem, IN (October 26, 2010) –
The fifth and final event with the Scott Performance Wire Five State
Challenge for the CRA Super Series will take place on Saturday,
November 6th with the North-South Shootout 125 Presented by
WearCrete Diamond Concrete Polishing at Concord Speedway,
located in Concord, North Carolina. The Scott Performance Wire Five
State
Challenge is an award program based upon five selected CRA Super
Series point’s events in five states the series will have point’s
events in 2010. The event will be the Season Championship event for
the inaugural CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour.
Michigan driver Brian Campbell comes
into The North-South event as the point’s leader in the Scott
Performance Wire Five State Challenge after four events, which started
on May 8th at Berlin Raceway, located in Marne, Michigan,
which Campbell won. The second event was on July 11th at
Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana. The third event was on August
28th at Columbus Motor Speedway, in Columbus, Ohio, were
Campbell picked up his second series victory of the season. The fourth
event was on October 2nd at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville
in Nashville, Tennessee.
Campbell has a slim two-point lead
over 2009 & 2010 series Champion John VanDoorn. Jason Dietsch is in
third place, he is 58 points behind VanDoorn. Tommy St. John is just
two points behind Dietsch in fourth place. Terry Fisher Jr. is in
fifth place, he is 11 points behind St. John. Nick Gullatta, Jay
Niewiek and Colin Nickolai are sixth, seventh and eighth, and are the
only other drivers eligible to receive awards from this program
because they competed in every event to date in the Scott Performance
Wire Five State Challenge.
The Scott Performance Wire Five State
Challenge will pay the driver who gets the most series points in the
five events a $400 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires, the
second place driver will receive a $500 bonus and a set of Scott
Performance Wires and the third place driver will receive a $700
bonus. Scott Performance Wire will also award the 2010 CRA Super
Series Champion John VanDoorn and the CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour
Champion with a set of Scott Performance Wires.
Ryan Blaney comes in to the
North-South Shootout 125 Presented by WearCrete Diamond Concrete
Polishing with a chance of receiving a $1000 cash bonus from Scott
Performance Wire, if he can win the event. Blaney was the winner of
the CRA event held on May 23rd at Hickory Motor Speedway.
The bonus was originally tied in with the CRA event that was scheduled
for Tri-County Motor Speedway on May 21st, but that event
was canceled because of weather. The Concord Speedway event was then
added as the second North Carolina event for the bonus. If Blaney does
not win at Concord, there will be a $500 cash bonus from Scott
Performance Wire for the best overall finisher between the two events.
