Anderson, IN - October 6, 2010 - Officials of the Great
American Motorsport Exposition today announced that the new Trade
Show - Auction - Swap Meet - Fan Fest has been moved back two weeks
from its original
date due to the need for more square footage. The event was
tentatively scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend. The show will now be
held December 10-12, 2010.
As the show has grown, several additions have been added including a
swap meet area and a car and motorcycle corral. The event was
originally going to be held in

a
69,000 square foot building at the
Indiana State Fairgrounds. The event will continue to be held at the
Fairgrounds but in the 139,000 square foot South Pavilion. With the
much larger building, the event will be able to accommodate
everything
in one building.
The event will have something for everyone from the casual fan to
those individuals involved heavily in racing. Fans will be able to
meet and greet racing personalities, obtain autographs, and pick up
2011 racing schedules from the many tracks and sanctioning bodies
that will be on hand.
Drivers and car owners will be able to check out the latest apparel
and parts from the various vendors on hand. There will also be an
auction all three days including a benefit auction for the Rich
Vogler Memorial
Scholarship Fund on Saturday afternoon.
Show founder, Gary Schlafer, explained the reasoning for the date
change. " To do everything we want to do under one roof we needed a
much larger facility " explained Schlafer. " The response to the
date
change has been highly popular. We will be having a trade show,
auction, fan fest, and swap meet all going on at the same time. the
way the South Pavilion is set up, it allows for everything to be
separated but yet in the same building " continued Schlafer. " I'm
extremely excited about this move and it will only enhance the
experience for vendors, participants, and fans. "
The Great American Motorsport Exposition will also feature a
Supermodified reunion and the 1st annual National Figure 8 Reunion
Sunday afternoon. Details of these events will be made public as
details are finalized. Other events planned include: ' Salute to the
Woman of Motorsport ' and ' champions Night '.
