Welch and Wilson Motorsports Announces
Changes for 2011 Season
Greenfield, IN - Jeff Welch and
Curt Wilson
have
already been hard at work preparing for the 2011 racing season. In
2011 Welch and Wilson Motorsports will enter an additional car with
the CRA Super Series. South Bend, Indiana’s
Derrick Griffin will drive the #4 Welch
and Wilson Motorsports late model competing for Rookie of the Year
honors and the Season Championship with the CRA Super Series. Griffin
was a two time winner with the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series in
2010 and competed with the CRA Super Series in the Winchester 400 were
he came from his 26th starting position to the top ten
before having to park the car with engine problems on lap 113. In
limited starts with the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series in 2010,
Griffin was the season leader in laps lead and Allstar Performance
Fast Qualifier Awards.
Central Indiana racing veteran Scott
Neal has been hired by Welch and Wilson Motorsports
as
the full time Crew Chief for Griffin. Neal is a veteran racer and crew
chief with all of the top three CRA divisions and was a winner with
the ARCA Racing Series in his series debut. Neal worked for several
years for Jack Roush’s NASCAR Sprint Cup teams before recently moving
back to Indiana. The pair will get some valuable experience working
together prior to the 2011 season by competing in the 43rd
Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. That
prestigious event will have open practice on Thursday, December 2nd,
practice and qualifying on Friday, December 3rd, practice
and last chance races on Saturday December 4th with the 300
lap Snowball Derby on Sunday December 5th. Welch and
