CRA Super Series
Returns to North-South Shootout at Concord Speedway
CRA Southern Six-Pack
Tour Champion to be Crowned
Salem, IN (November 1, 2010) –
The CRA Super Series will return to Concord Speedway in Concord, North
Carolina, for this weekends 8th Annual North-South
Shootout. This will be the second year that the CRA Super Series has
been a part of this prestigious event promoted by C & C Racing
Promotions. This year’s North-South Shootout 125 Presented by
WearCrete Diamond Concrete Polishing will be the final event in CRA’s
inaugural CRA Southern Six-Pack
Tour.
Last years event was an emotional win
for Jeff Fultz and the WearCrete Racing Team. Fultz lost his
21-year-old son Johnny in a tragic traffic accident earlier in the
week prior to last years North-South Shootout. Fultz decided to go
ahead and race the event with a very heavy heart. Fultz took the lead
on lap 53 and never looked back in what many described as one of the
greatest wins they had ever seen in racing!
It was a very somber victory lane,
but Fultz showed the joy of being able to dedicate the win to his lost
son. ""This is a very emotional win for me," Fultz stated. " My
team gave me a great car and I am so thankful for all the support from
everyone this weekend. This ones for Johnny, I know he was helping out
there on the track today!"
Jeff Choquette took the early lead
from the outside of the front row, but could not hold off fast
qualifier Cassius Clark who grabbed the lead on the fifth lap and held
it until he pitted on lap 46 with most of the field. Local competitor
Bobby Measmer Jr. assumed the lead on the restart after not pitting
with the rest of the field, Cooper Faassin took over on lap 50 when
Measmer pitted but was chased down by Fultz who grabbed the lead for
good on lap 53. 2009 & 2010 CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn
raced from his seventh starting spot to finish second in his first
ever start at the challenging half mile. Clark would hold on to finish
in third. Preston Peltier would come from his 18th starting
position to finish fourth while Chase Elliott finished in fifth place.

Augie Grill comes into the
North-South Shootout 125 Presented by WearCrete Diamond Concrete
Polishing as the point’s leader in the CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour
after claiming two wins with the Tour at the two Gresham Motorsports
Park events. 14-year-old Chase Elliott, son of NASCAR Legend Bill
Elliott, is in second place, 18 points behind Grill. Ryan Blaney, the
son of NASCAR driver Dave Blaney, is in third place, he is 14 points
behind Grill. Fultz is in fourth place and Kyle Busch Motorsports
Development Driver T.J. Reaid is currently in fifth place. Blaney won
the tour’s Hickory Motor Speedway event while Reaid won the tour’s All
American 400 event in Nashville.
