CRA Twin All-Star 150’s Weekend up Next
for CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour
Schedule of Events
Salem, IN (May 18, 2010) – The
CRA Twin All-Star 150’s, the second and third events of the CRA
Southern Six-Pack Tour, are set to take place this weekend. The first
of the All-Star Twin 150’s will be held Friday, May 21st at
Tri-County Motor Speedway.
The banked 4/10-mile Speedway is approximately 70 miles from
Charlotte, it will be the first visit for CRA to that track. Then on
Sunday May 23rd, the CRA Super Late Model teams will be back in action
for the first time ever at the legendary Hickory Motor Speedway. The
.363-mile track is known as “The Birth Place of NASCAR Stars” and “The
World’s Most Famous Short Track”.
Both events will be 150 laps and will be
sponsored and promoted by WearCrete Racing with help from SASE Co.
Each event will pay $5000 to win, plus if the same driver can win both
events, they will receive a $1000 bonus from Scott Performance Wire.
Victory Junction will receive all the profits from the event from
event promoter WearCrete Racing.
Alabama sensation Augie Grill comes into
this weekend’s events as the point’s leader for the CRA Southern
Six-Pack Tour after his victory in the Tour’s season opener at Gresham
Motorsports Park. 14-year-old Chase Elliott, son of NASCAR legend
Bill Elliott is currently second in Tour points, he is nine points
behind Grill. Both point leaders are entered for both events this
weekend.
Bowman-Grey Stadium 2009 Modified
Champion Tim Brown, one of the starts of the "Madhouse" reality
television show, will be racing in Sunday’s event at Hickory Motor
Speedway in a WearCrete Racing late model. WearCrete Racing’s Jeff
Fultz will compete in both events along with teammate Daniel Hemrick.
Young guns Ryan Blaney, son of NASCAR’s Dave Blaney, and Devin Jones
are also entered. T. J. Reaid will compete in both events for the Kyle
Busch Motorsports team. Other drivers entered to compete in both
events include Jimmy Weller, Jimmy Garmon, Don Young, Alan Karnes,
Randy Gentry and Jason Vail. Ryan Lawler will race in Sunday’s event
for famed car builder Robert Hamke.
There will also be an Open Street Stock
Challenge for both events this weekend featuring racecars from the CRA
Street Stocks, Frank Kimmel Street Stock Nationals and local Street
Stocks from around North Carolina. Both Street Stock features will pay
$750 to win. On Saturday at Hickory fans will be treated with a
performance by Motorcycle Stunt-Man Rhett “Rotten” and his world
famous Wall of Death.
Pit gates open at Tri-County Speedway on
Friday at 1pm, practice will begin at 4pm, qualifying at 6:45pm, the
race program will begin at 8pm. On Saturday there will be an open
practice at Hickory Motor Speedway, pits open at 11am, practice will
go from 12noon until 5pm. On Sunday at Hickory, pit gates open at 9am,
practice begins at 12noon, qualifying at 2pm, the race program will
