The Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge Continues at Plymouth Sunday

Salem, IN (July 9, 2010) – The second event with the Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge for the CRA Super Series will take place this Sunday with the Summer Championship 200 at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana. The Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge is an award program based upon five selected CRA Super Series point’s events in five states the series will have point’s events in 2010.

The Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge began with the Keyser’s Port City Racing 125 on May 8th at Berlin Raceway, located in Marne, Michigan. Local favorite Brian Campbell came away with the victory and was the events EDCO Welding Fast Qualifier, collecting a maximum of 110 points for the event, placing him in the lead of the Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge. Berlin regular Chris Anthony is second in points with 105, but he is not expected to enter the Plymouth event. NASCAR competitor Johnny Benson is third with 100 points for the Kyle Busch Motorsports team, but they will also miss Sunday’s event. John VanDoorn is currently in fourth place with 92 points. He is entered for Sunday’s event and is the current series point’s leader. Other drivers in the top ten in Challenge points who are entered for Sunday’s event include Eddie Hoffman, and Scott Hantz.

Hantz was the winner of last season’s Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge in a close battle with Rick Turner that wasn’t decided until the last lap in the final event of the Challenge. The third event of the Challenge will be the August 28th event at Columbus Motor Speedway, in Columbus, Ohio. The fourth event will be the October 3rd All American 400 event at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee. The final event will be the November 6th North/South Shootout at Concord Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.

The Scott Performance Wire Five State Challenge will pay the driver who gets the most series points in the five events a $400 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires, the second place driver will receive a $500 bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires and the third place driver will receive a $700 bonus.
