Salem, IN (July 14, 2010) – The CRA Street Stocks will return to action this Saturday at Mt. Lawn Speedway located just outside New Castle, Indiana in the United Auto Salvage 50. The challenging 3/10 mile track has been the home of several CRA competitors over the years and always offers great racing in the Street Stock division.

For the first time since the first event of the season the CRA Street Stocks has a new points leader, the #33 team owned by Rich Boyer and driven this season primarily by Rich, except the June 13^th series event at Mt. Lawn Speedway when Joe Beaver got behind the wheel, is now the series points leader. Scott Neal had led all season, but decided to not participate in this past Sunday’s event at Plymouth Speedway.

New Castle native Brian Hopkins comes into this weekend’s event second in points, he is 24 points behind the #33 car. Steve Christman is third in points for his owner Steve Davis, a New Castle native, he is only four points behind Hopkins. Jeff Lane is fourth in series points for his owner Danny Acrey, also a New Castle native. Lane will miss this Saturday’s event, New Castle’s Jason Atkinson will be behind the wheel of that car, which won the series event at Mt. Lawn on June 13^th with Lane behind the wheel. Kentucky driver Rick Erwin is fifth in series points, he is six points behind Lane. Nick Moore is the series leading rookie in 6^th place.

Dave Long got his first ever series win last Sunday at Plymouth Speedway. The Plymouth regular took advantage of his outside pole starting spot to lead all 50 laps. To date there have been seven different winners in the series seven events. Besides Long and Lane, the other who have won an event include Boyer, Christman, Bret Miles, Josh Poore and Bret Miles. The series is now halfway through its 2010 season going into this Saturday’s event.

Pit gates will open on Saturday at 3pm. Practice is set to begin at 4pm with qualifying at 5:30pm. The race program will begin at 7pm and will include the United Auto Salvage 50 for the CRA Street Stocks. More event information can be found at www.mtlawn.com.
